Norman Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Although I would not criticize him even one bit. He was the one who hit 2 sixes in that momentum shifting Nawaz over that went for 20. You could literally sense Pakistan starting to tremble from that point. And most importantly, he's the reason why Nawaz had to be kept back until the 20th over which made it a lot lot easier for Kohli to attack the faster bowlers at the other end. Aaaaand he took three wickets in the middle overs and probably stopped pak from getting 170. Second biggest match winner of the game after kohli. adi B, sorak, Adorable Fan and 5 others 8
Suhaan Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 I can see him developing innovative shots against that pace on such pitches Bowlers target him there now, blessing in disguise for him sooner or later he will adapt Its not that he cant play pace, just that length with face troubles him as of now I believe he knows that and comeback prepared in sometime raki05 1
the don Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 It wasnt due to a lack of trying. He swung at everything but was late on the hard length balls.

Nobody could play hard length on this pitch including Pakistani batsmen. They are lucky they don't have to face Rauf on this pitch. High pace, hard length deliveries are tough to hit on such wickets. Kohli was the only exception.
Nikhil_cric Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Hardik plays high pace very well . So does KL, Rohit, SKY. But high pace at that length on that wicket - the others are okay but Kohlis range against pace helps him. Precious few batters can so what he did the other day.
Majestic Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 He is not capable to hit deliveries which are not in slot vs pace. Yesterday's game proved that Pandya as pure batsman doesn't walk into Indian team. He need to chip in an over or two atleast. ungboysj 1
Ankit_sharma03 Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 He cant attack hard length simple , actually very few can in world...............very few He didnt slow down he just cudnt hit it coffee_rules and ungboysj 2

Kohli was the only exception. on any wkt, very few in world has the ability to hit that length at that pace - Kohli-KL-Rohit-ABDV-Butler-Livingstone-Miller and some of them also may not adjust to every pitch or execute it in pressure . This is why Kohli is a genius in death overs that too in pressure situations
coffee_rules Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 (edited) Because of his weird angled stance, he can only hit 6s on the leg side. Even in highlights, he was seen missing quite a few on the offside at that hard length. DK with his 360 shots can play pace better. But DK is also a d1ck as he finds innovative ways to get out. It was the Shaheen shah over 15th? that turned for us where momentum shifted towards India. Kohli’s innings was as mind numbing for them as much as Tendulkar’s in WC 2003. Kohli’s hitting were all cricketing shots and not blind ghumaos that we see from Pant and Co. Edited October 25, 2022 by coffee_rules sandeep 1

He should look to play square with horizontal bat shots. You need range to play those deliveries. you cannot target hitting in one direction. See if you can put that behind the wicket
maniac Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 He was struggling but let’s give some credit to Pakistan fast bowlers especially Rauf who bowled very well. Credit to Pandya. He was looking to take it deep and survive so he was only trying to hit in one zone to minimize risk and kept missing. However no excuse for missing out on Nawaz in the last over. Should have finished it. nevada 1

I bet rohit, sky or even kela woudnt have missed so many of them on off stump after settling down like Pandya.he clearly couldn't able to even connect which is due to his limitation at off stump. coffee_rules and maniac 2

Gill is another guy who would have enjoyed batting against bounce. But he won't accelerate well. raki05 1
Lord Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 He should learn the ramp shot from SKY. Will help him v hard length outside off Adorable Fan and raki05 1 1

Adorable Fan Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 The accurate hard length balls on a bouncy pitch is tough to score for 90% batsmen currently playing. Only exceptions are batsman will high technical skills or innovative one like SKY, ABV who can find different areas to score. Pandya has to practice to open up the cover to 3rd man region to score from these lengths maybe shuffle to leg side & can free his arms. All pace bowlers going to target this line and length against him. Coming to this innings he was targeting straight down and swinging hard. There is no lack of intent but probably skills. He need to learn to use the pace of the bowlers instead trying to force down the ground. SKY is a good example, we hardly see him get tied down whatever line and length from pace bowlers.
