So skipper VK has decided not to hand Rishabh his debut today.

Let's blame it on that schemer from Jharkhand, who is trying to play politics a la Mulayam Singh Yadav.  It must be part of his master plan to play till 2025 and then pass on the gloves to state-mate Ishan Kishan.  Definitely, I mean, there's no proof and Virat is Captain.  But aren't you tired of looking at Dhoni's face, his greybeard non-swag swagger, his accented English, his lack of expressions.  Its all just so 2000s.

Lol you want kohli to drop captain cool in the first t20 match as captain? Let's see what the schemer from jharkhand does in today's match, dhoni should have left the t20s himself but he won't, why is dhoni still hanging around? What more does he want to achieve in the t20 format? He doesn't even have any monetary issues, purely selfish from captain cool.

Pant should have played and opened .

Poor decision .

Either way I wanted Pant to be selected for the test team and it won't happen either .

It seems Kohli doesn't trust Pant yet.Maybe he needs to have another strong Ranji and IPL force his way into the team.Hopefully atleast gets few A tours in between.

Real disappointing.

This thread is not to express your disappointment about no Pants Republic day.

Stay on topic please.  Direct your venom towards that Suppandi Look-alike from Ranchi.  Bash him.  Criticize him for having too many dogs.  For driving a Hummer in the days of global warming.  For saying that the India WC streak will end at some point.

You get the idea.

Exactly. What a selfish person Dhoni is. He is not letting Virat Kohli choose pant. Poor chap Kohli, even after becoming the captain is unable to have his say and being overpowered by Dhoni. He even got his buddy Raina into the XI against Kohli's wish and left out the only true batting sensation Pant.

I feel the great supreme court in India should step in and make sure this old good-for-nothing guy anywhere near our great Indian Cricket Team. He should be charged as traitor who is hatching a ghor shadyantra to destroy Indian cricket by hanging on and on.

I dont think Kohli in his first T20 series as captain has anywhere near the influence or self-assuredness to make radical changes. However, knowing his history in tests, he will take these harsh/needed calls sooner than later. Particularly if team is losing. He is not one to go with the same team again and again despite loses

What radical change is opening with Pant,Rahul at 4(where he scored 100)  and dropping Pandey .

Let's be honest.  Going with Rishabh Panth over Manish Pandey is a "radical" change?  It was an obvious one.

Firstly I will start of with site feedback-can we have a hall of fail sub-forum on ICF and sticky this thread because it fails on all accounts of sarcasm or cricketing analysis-whichever way we look at it.

Now firstly Kohli is not going to tell Dhoni "You suck in the T20 format..I am replacing you with this exciting prospect who might potentially take your space"....Kohli has still not reached that level.

Dhoni by Kohli's own admission has given him chances when he was struggling,so he won't start letting Dhoni feel insecure just as yet.

Now if Dhoni starts costing Kohli T20 games like Dhoni has been doing for a while now-then there will be a breaking point...hell I think it might come much sooner maybe even in the 2nd T20I because what has been really encouraging about Kohli is he is not stubborn and is very proactive.

Not much Kohli or selectors can do, if Dhoni gets dropped...and India loose...everyone will point at dropping Dhoni was big mistake

Dhoni should do the honourable and retire from T20I. Not sure why him and also Yuvraj Singh hanging around, they are so out of their depth in T20Is these days.

Pant is a newbie, rookie. Did you really expect him to play from game one. Those days are gone where we used to play rookies straight away. Now they all have to warm the benches for sometime.

Correct.

The best thing for Indian Cricket in the short term, is for England to pummel India in T20.

I want Kohli to fail while batting so the responsibility of setting or chasing a score rest on other players who will fail over a period of time.

King Kohli is one of those too proud and cocky Indians that wont allow this to happen for too long before making big changes. Lets just hope that all the players we want in the T20 team have solid IPL campaigns so that when the changes happen they select the right players.

No way is Rahul, Yuvraj, Pandey and Dhoni should be a part of the T20 team. FFS thats 1/3 of the team that is poorly chosen.
