Popular Post Trichromatic
If you see their batting they are struggling not just technically, but mentally too. All of them barring Kohli are scared, insecure and uncertain. They is clear lack of clarity about what their approach should be and they look like they are batting just to save their place. Pandya had his place secured and he played freely in first test. That type of mentality is missing from other players. GoldenSun, Nonbeliever, tweaker and 8 others 11 Link to comment
mancalledsting
KL Rahul looked mentally scarred and both of his dismissals this match were to poor shots; I wouldn't blame Kohli and vijay for the loss of their wickets today. Batting last was always gonna be tough. Damage was done with India's batting flop show in 2nd innings of match Laaloo and express bowling 2 Link to comment

Had the exact same feeling, cricket is a mind game, even the greatest will struggle if mentally they aren't in it. But I guess this works for Kohli, create locha in the minds of other batsmen and be the andhon mein kaana raja, we Indians love our lone warriors and moral victors, team jaaye bhaad mein, case in point our fanboyism in 1990s. Kohli's brand is protected this way too, may be he realizes it is beyond him to win world titles or something really significant, so might as well protect his image and brand whilst killing the competition. Stuge
Tinkering too much with the team is never a good idea.. Here Kohli is hell bent in tinkering to satisfy his aggression, and ego to prove people wrong .Even the players ,who played well are being made to sit out for reasons which he contradicts himself. This gives a wrong message in the camp that even if you play well your position in the team is not guaranteed. Players in the team should be given a chance for a series, and should be supported accordingly .So that they play freely ,and don't get pressurised because they might get dropped in the next match .I would be furious if Dhawan is now chosen in the 3rd match and Rahul is made to sit out . SK_IH
i agree, specially in case of openers it's a musical chairs policy, waiting to see who gets dropped for the 3rd test beetle and Gollum 2 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Even performing players like Bhuvi gets dropped. KL Rahul despite being in top 10 ICC rankings was frequently dropped. Everything is on Kohli. He is an average captain and a poor leader. Peshust, beetle, Gollum and 3 others 6 Link to comment
wanted_desi
Vijay - Not sure if he will start next game KL - Already kicked out from all the formats, feeling his last chance. Pujara - Scared of getting drop next game from only format. No IPL Rohit - He is horrible to begin with All of the blame goes to kaptaan sahib, he got what he wanted, no one can replace him. adi B
They've suddenly gone from batting on docile home tracks against third class seam attack of lanka to playing against world class attack in difficult conditions, this had to happen!! OTTOT no practice matches and prior departure from india. This series is done, now India have to work really hard and take drastic steps before the England tour which might be even harder Link to comment
Khota
If they get chopped no problem. They are big boys they should handle it. Link to comment
nitinbwj
KL Rahul looked clueless and scared. Pujara also won't last long. I don't see Ind making a 100 here. Rightarmfast 1 Link to comment

When R and D are dropped, it is like they are rested because they know they will always be in the game. Even if others perform, kohli does not need a logical excuse to drop the performer. The pitch was suited for this guy or some other excuse. If their replacements bomb...then they get back in. It is not like the selectors will drop them from the team so easily. If they are in the team , they will also be in the game because they are in ' team kohli'. They know they are ahead of others in the pecking order , no matter what. Gollum 1 Link to comment
speedheat
Please give credit to opposition bowlers rather than bashing our own batters, they don't offer lollipops like Lanka, windies. Link to comment
