jalebi_bhai Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I think toss played a big part here. We didn't make our job easier with our pathetic preparation and selection. Hopefully the team management have learnt their lessons.
Gollum Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Need to improve catching before we dream about a good 2018 in test cricket. We were clinical in this match and see how thin the margins are between top teams. Had SA held on to the 5 catches they dropped they would have won a thriller here.

Texy Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Dropping Bhuvi in 2nd match was terrible decision. Selecting Rohit was a huge blunder too beetle and Shunya 2
maniac Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Point 1-We caught well, team Selection was spot on, bowlers bowled the right lengths and we won Point 2-We didn’t do any of those properly above and we lost Never had questions about ability or skills of this team, it is just that we knew point 1 is going to happen more often and it did, once it stopped we won. We need to start showing consistency in catching, team selections etc then no doubt this team can White wash any team overseas...Anyway time to move from coulda woulda shoulda and celebrate this win.
beetle Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Kohli should increase his circle of friends. Adi_91, Trichromatic and Cricketics 3

The most frustrating thing was seeing them loose 1st test which was easily winnable with a good combination inspite of loosing the toss sandeep 1
LordPrabhzy Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 i think its a blessing in disguise that the Eng tests are after the LOI leg of the tour... that we we will aclimatise faster and the weather in Aug/Sept is slightly warmer than the early summer so better for our batters. or we could lose 5-0...

I would prefer 3 full time pacers and 2 full time spinners for most tests. Some tests, go with 4 pacers and 1 spinner. 5 wicket taking bowlers is the way to go I feel.
Singh bling Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I still don't understand why the best player of Indian aide Bhuvneshwar kumar was dropped No matter what people say Kohli has lost CT Final and Now this series
coffee_rules Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Yeah totally agree. Test3 was the ideal batting team, Bhuvi dropped for second test and Rahane drooped for 2 tests, saved and won the test.
sensible-indian Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 (edited) There was a sincere student who was working hard preparing for an important life changing exam. Things were looking good. He felt confident about himself and thought he could do well after a few more weeks of preparation. Suddenly one day, his school principle comes to his home and takes away all his books and hides them, only to return them 2 days before the exam. When he arrives for the exam, the principle says that he is not allowed to use more than 3 extra sheets because as responsible citizens, we need to SAVE trees and hence use paper judiciously. The student ends up scoring 75% instead of 95%. When his parents complain about what happened, you know what we should tell them... SHOULDA WOULDA COULDA. Singh bling Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 People on ICF are forgetting That the racial quota policy of SA greatly helped India , They have to carry many passengers to fill the quota

Virat could have actually achieved an overseas whitewash had selections been sensible. Could have should have. A lot of things could have happened, but it did not. And it did not because there is a reason, it is not coincidental. I don't know about 3-0, especially when we have lost the series, but a 2-0 or 2-1 series win was not out of the realm of possibility. It's not just selection, getting match ready was just as important. Hopefully, India will learn from this and not repeat the mistake in England. However, I am wary of the Indian mindset kicking in and we go back our old ways! Time will tell. Adi_91 1
