Prithvi Shaw ruled out of Australia Tests series, Mayank to Fly in

India opener Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of taking part in the Test series against Australia after continued pain in his ankle. He sustained the injury during a tour game early this month and although there had been hope that he might be fit in time for the Boxing Day Test, the team management has decided to send him back home and bring in Mayank Agarwal as his replacement

I don't trust Mayank to be able to do well either at the international level. But nonetheless, he deserves a place in the squad, and maybe the team seeing how the openers are batting.

It will be better If Pujara opens. Atleast guy is prepared mentally that he will face first ball unlike now when he doesnyt know if he will face ball 4 or ball 8.

Mayank deserves an opportunity and he could possibly do better than Vijay and Rahul, but I just don't see him having a major impact. Hope he proves me wrong

Kohli wont drop Rahul Rohit. So Pujara can open with Rahul while space created by Vijay can be give to 3rd test fit Rohit.

So it was indeed a very rough injury. Feel so bad for the young man...he could hv had a major impact for us. Who knows if he will maintain the same form on return.
