Why India's match is so late?

SA is playing its third and we will play our first.

 Lodha commission or something told India cannot play any official match before 15 days after IPL last match. So they advanced one match. We were supposed to play on sunday. That got pushed back.

I think its due to IPL, BCCI might have requested for India's games to be started later

Yes, it is very poor scheduling for sure whatever the reason might be i.e IPL.  

All this should have no bearing at the World Cup stage.

IPL last match was on May 12 , so it will be 24 days

 

I suspect ICC too wants India to stay in tournament as late as possible.

Its not about best or worst , we will play a team who loses will be on verge of elimination , so mentality of both teams will be different. Its one of must win for SA but just a starter for India

but IPL got over on 12 May, 15 days after that should be 27 May.
