Only Donald and Pollock were the really gifted bowlers in their team. But the rest of their attack - Fannie, McMillan, Klusener, Craig Mathews, Symcox, Kallis, Cronje (a batting 'trundler' who still kept it very-2 tight) - had their plans, kept their intensity levels high and their effectiveness as a bowling group was greater than sum of their parts. That is what we need to strive for - attention to details, the hard work to get bowlers to make the minor adjustments that raise their game, the ability to work the opposition out, and identifying right talent and then sticking with it. We need a Cronje-Woolmer / Naseer-Fletcher / Border-Simmons / Ganguly-Wright type partnership to truly dominate cricket. The sacking of Kumble has pushed our team back. He was a real thinker of the game, someone who believed in planning & meticulous execution. They cant do that as they are busy making Tik Tok videos and cake smearing... priorities bhai rollingstoned and Cricwala 2 Link to comment

Plus we missed the opportunities in test series as well to help McCullum score a triple & a double ton. NZ are deserved winners while Indians have a lot of issues which needs to be sorted out. Our batters barring Rohit cannot set big scores and our middle order is still a work in progress. Bowlers are feeling the pressure because of the above two reasons. don't think batsmen are too much at fault. if you can't defend 347 & 296, then it is more the fault of bowlers. Yeah batsman could have done a bit more in the final overs but they are inexperienced and would learn from these. Turning_track 1 Link to comment

Yeah batsman could have done a bit more in the final overs but they are inexperienced and would learn from these. We missed out on scoring more runs in the death overs. NZ, England, etc ODI pitches are for new generation with explosive batsmen. 300 is not a good score on these pitches and against their line up. There is a reason they were the two WC finalist. They play a completely different brand of cricket in ODIs. If you are content with 300, with player going at run a ball in middle and 8 per over at death, you will never win against these two teams Link to comment
Norman
Lol so we got fecked 3-0. Our LOI bowling attack is extremely overrated. And now with Bumrah seemingly getting regressed day by day, it's back to the dark ages of 2014-16. Link to comment
Cricwala
Have a bad feeling about tests - Mayank is a walking wicket at the moment Shaw is too trigger-happy (even Sehwag struggled in NZ) if Kohli plays 5 bowlers like he did in the home season with Jadeja-Ash-Saha at 6,7,8 - that might leave us thin on batting Jadeja and Ashwin are likely to struggle on flat/seaming tracks as they have done in past before. Fast bowling also looking shaky - Bumrah still feeling his way back, Ishant injured. Pujara, Kohli, Rahane will have to play out of their skin and Shami has to really come to the party if we have to win this one! Gill could be the trump card, but am pretty sure Brat will bench him. Even sub-par Kuldeep would have been better than finger spinners, but that boat has sailed. Hope we don't get to hear Kohli repeat 'Matches were closer than final scoreline suggests' raki05 and nitinbwj 1 1 Link to comment

putrevus
The only two concerns about this series loss are Kohli's form with bat and Bumrah's form with ball. Norman 1 Link to comment

Seam bowlers usually tend to be 140+. he has been mostly 135. at that pace, you need to be a swing bowler. Saini was bowling 138 k to 146 k even today in his first spell. He is a very rhythm dependent bowler. Lost his rhythm and this resulted in reduced accuracy and pace in his later spells. He is a two paced bowler depending on his rhythm .... bowls 140 k to 148 k / 152 k sometimes and 135 k to 146 k on other days. FischerTal and Mariyam 2 Link to comment

India beat hockey world #1 and WC champs Belgium in a high quality match (FIH pro league). This after we beat the Dutch twice. Beating Belgium was special, an ATG team playing at full strength. Before the match I was worrying about margin of defeat. Next match we lost 2-3 but fought hard. Cheer up. Edited February 11, 2020 by Gollum f20143g70, Norman and rollingstoned 1 2 Link to comment
