Popular Post Trichromatic Posted December 28, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 28, 2020 Faced 159 deliveries - haven't seen better than our no 7 in difficult coditions in recent times. RAZPOR Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 he is actually looking like a genuine bat,for the first time in his career. Great improvement. We can actually play him at 6. express bowling 1
Gollum Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 (edited) Genuine test A/R, in the Stokes/Holder/Shakib class. Should always be in the first XI, he is my #7 in every condition. Hope he is talked about in the same breath as Kapil by the end of his career. Edited December 28, 2020 by Gollum asterix 1
Gollum Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 People talk about the mid-late 70s to 80s A/R quartet: Hadlee, Kapil, Imran, Botham. All ICC HOFers and surely top 2-3 cricketers from their respective countries....certified ATGs of the sport. Must say this era is developing its own quartet of Stokes, Holder, Jadeja, Shakib. May not be as legendary as the 80s guys but damn good all these 4 guys, with a few more years to build their resume and legacy. A pity that guys like Angelo, Broad, Ashwin, Starc failed to develop as genuine test A/Rs despite potential...became more of specialists, imagine had they maintained their early career form/trajectory in their weaker disciplines, what an era this would have been!!!! Woakes, CdG, Moeen are too old now to enter conversation, and their ceiling was never high. Cummins, Jamieson, Pandya, Santner, Chase, Curran still have age on their side, won't rule out one of these guys entering that esteemed club. IMO Cummins has the best shot, # 1 ranked bowler in the world with a higher peak rating than McGrath, has ability with the bat, can have a Hadlee like career. zen, asterix and sandeep 1 2
velu Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 he has limited shots but no obvious weakness .. good test bat anyway groomed by none other than thala himself Ajju 1

Agree but Woakes is maybe of Jadeja's age. Very useful guy to have in England. Won them a test vs Pak this summer with the bat. Dude easily gets overshadowed by the likes of Stokes & may walk as an A/R in most teams. Heavily underrated.

Lone Wolf Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 A great addition to a brittle batting line up.. Fortunately a left hander. Cummins looked toothless against him with the ball. Only Starc & Lyon were threat but he played them well. Overall Aussies struggled to bowl well to him compared to our plethora of right handers.

Any other captain (in the history of cricket) and his international career would have ended in 2010-11 with no chance in tests as well. Wonder how many great players have been lost worldwide cos they didn't get backing from their captains and system. nevada, Laaloo and Tridibans_16 1 2
