What is the rush to bring in Rohit for the 3rd test?

People are saying that since Rohit is available he should walk right back into the team. Can anyone explain this to me? When did Rohit become such a great overseas batsman that he has become indispensable in SENA? Rumours are that either Vihari or Mayank will get the axe to accommodate Rohit. What is the need to drop two youngsters after 2 failures and make multiple changes to the winning team?

I dont think they are gonna make any changes for the next game. Also because Rohit hasnt had match practice, will not be a good option to pick him now.

 

Mayank and VIhari should play the next test. KL Rahul might be a better option for 4th test if anyone has to be replaced.

MA needs to go, unless the next pitch is a repeat of the Ashes 2017/18 test KL should slot in to open in his stead. The guy can't last even 10 overs, I'd rather have someone who's in better form atm, or get Pujara/Vihari to open with RGS coming down the order?

I do hope the TM considers not tinkering with the 11 which has fought so well. Rohit hasn't had a proper hit since being in Australia. We do not have a practice match before the 3rd Test either. Slotting Rohit directly into the 11 will be inappropriate. Had we not won this 2nd test, he could still have come in but now, will be unfair on this 11 not to play together again in the 3rd test.

He could replace Agarwal but will he do any better is the question. Agarwal had a lower backl lift this innings and played one confident looking stroke before perishing cheaply again. I think persisting with him for another game is not a bad idea.

I saw Rohit's 63 in MCG at no 6..  Dropped like 3 times & Cummins & co were absolutely all over him.  Even Lyon was troubling him.   Mayank is going through a poor run & has some technical flaws but at least he is not a TTF.   Rahul can replace him but surely not Rohit.  Dude just keeps coming back.  Imagine Gill playing against Saffers at home he would have 1-2 centuries himself.

I'd not make any change in batting lineup if the match is played in SCG patta. Good chance for Mayank to come back to form. But if Mayank is feeling low on confidence, KL is the guy who must replace MA, and not tailunt. VIhari's position should not be touched, he should be given all games before he is accessed.

Agarwal is struggling not because of technical issue rather due to the fact that pitches were slower last time - so he had slightly more time to react.On first day of first test pitch was slowest where he could not capitalise.Rohit will not do any better than him.

Vihari to open makes most sense.

 

Need a blocker at the top to neutralise Starc and Cummins with new ball.

Rohit is here to assure India's dominance in the series in absence of Kohli. He is the only guy brave enough to hit Cummins over extra cover for six in the first hour coming in at 30/4. He is the only one with intent. If he was there 36 ao would have never happened. Such a bold shot would have Cummins in stitches that he will lose focus on the game and deliver more freebies. Don't count out the hitman he is here to strike terror. Such terror that girly men like Lyon had to put two fielders on the on side like ODIs to get him out. Mark my words. Rohit will be a dangerous batsmen for the Aussies

The idiots in TM rushed him to Australia because of pressure from media and not because of Cricketing reasons. Kohli and Co did not want it to feel like he was deliberately being sidelined.
