Shambolic inauguration Test Match for World's Biggest Stadium - Disgraceful from fan point of view

Test match completed in just over 5 sessions, less than 2 days.

Supposedly d/n match, only saw 1 night of cricket.

This pitch has previous history of being poor, in the SMAT Finals few weeks back.

 

From fans (in stadium and TV) perspective what a let down, no play through the weekend.

 

Unfortunately didn't see anyone punish BCCI or the pitch curators, ICC has power against BCCI.

Ideally everyone wants match to go full distance and India wining on final day.But those pitches are more of a lottery like First test, India was never in the match after their first innings.In this match England did have chance to comeback and make a match out of it but if anyone blames their first two wickets of second innings on wicket need to get their heads examined and those two wickets had such a huge impact on their batting.

We should stop calling ourselves as a cricket powerhouse if we do not even have faith in the team's ability to win on fair pitches.

See i do feel deck was poor. But this issue of doctored pitches is plain wrong.

 

That pitch was disintegrating which meant England won a good toss. They still lost by 10 wickets 

 

Fundamentally their selection policy and general differentiation in spinner quality resulted in a loss.

That pitch wasn't disintegrating. It played better than the second test which was exploding more. Its the pink ball

These type of pitches at home is what made India the worst test team in 90s. Now BCCI with their stupid negative approach is taking Indian cricket backwards but the fact is this team has the potential to be a world beater as they showed in Australia. But BCCI as always will do its best to mess things up.
