SandeepMotta Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) I know this is his first tour in charge but if you look back to the Sri Lankan tour and now the pattern is pretty clear. Doesn't like to make any changes and just tries to play safe and has a liking for trundle and just doesn't seem to like any exciting bastmen. Sad times for Indian cricket when Shastri seems better. The Realist Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Would rather have David than imposter Dravid
Vickydev Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 He is going totally opposite to the way he captained the side..taking on challenges, playing young players.. Or maybe that was Greg and he is trying too hard not to go down that route. Either way its a lose-lose for us atm Lord and Vijy 1 1
Prabhdeep Singh Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) Dravid was given too much credit for under 19 world cup win. It is down to quality of players such as Gill and Shaw. Dravid is defensive and more suited to coach test match team, not short formats. I believe Virat would have quit because of his early interactions with Dravid. SandeepMotta Posted January 21, 2022 Author Posted January 21, 2022 No one should be surprised if we see Purane back again and the like of Bhuvi and Chahar leading the bowling attack. We ll be back the days when bowlers struggling to touch 135kmph qere always given preference on the supposed basis of line and length and how pace doesn't matter . raki05 1
mancalledsting Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Just anticipating Vinay Kumar to announce his comeback from retirement so he can be our pace spearhead, aided by the all-round skills of Abhimanyu Mithun. U19 World Cup win clearly now happened in spite of Dravid and not because of him. Credit to Shaw, Gill, Mavi and Nagarkoti; these bachey led to this man getting a big job. This is starting to look like the Dravid who thought a top order consisting of himself, Wasim Jaffer and Kallis would cut it in t20. express bowling, Kothili, SandeepMotta and 3 others 3 2 1
Mariyam Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 I'm worried about the WC at home next year. I don't want us out in the group stages. That would really hurt.
zen Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) Well Dravid is a safe person. He even chose Kallis and C'paul in RCB ... However, he did not want to be the coach. He was forced to take on the role by BCCI if I am not wrong BCCI (its selectors) are making such moves Edited January 21, 2022 by zen Vijy, Lord and SandeepMotta 1 2
Lord Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Huge fan of Dravid as batsman and person but this job is not meant for him in current situation. Vijy and express bowling 2
ThirtyD. Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 He can f*ck off. For a rich board, these shitbags come up with the lamest of reasons to not engage in professional recruitment. nitinbwj 1

I think they genuinely approached Ricky Ponting but he didn't want to come because of the schedule.

RedFever Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Well, if Rohit Sharma was playing, most probably we would have won the second test and the series 2-1 and one of the ODI's atleast. So tooo early to judge Dravid's tenure based on one series when the key batsman is missing. Swag 1

Mariyam Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) Are we over-reacting? The WC is in India after all. Maybe this team can mount a challenge in those conditions... Edited January 21, 2022 by Mariyam
putrevus Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Guy like Dravid works for under-19 kinds as they are in awe of his stature and still want to make name for themselves. Most of the players in Indian are already superstars and have to be handled differently. What are his beliefs, what exactly does he want to turn this team into. Why is he turning this team into trundler fest again. BacktoCricaddict, AuxiliA and Frustrated 1 2
