rangeelaraja Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) If the pathetic concrete slum look of the stadium was not bad enough....DDCA / BCCI apparently cannot find a better sponsor than Paan Bahar. What a " wonderful " advertisement it is to adolescents who come to watch the game. Apart from encashing India's economic boom and cricket popularity in India -- BCCI has proved itself to be a 3rd rate board. I would put even Bangladesh, Lankan and Pakistan cricket boards above it. Pound for pound - they make much better use of their resources than BCCI. Having someone like Chetan Sharma with his sadak chhap cricketing intellect as Chief Selector ...is one among hundreds of examples of how BCCI functions. kosingh Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Every few years we hear of an amazing new stadium being built in Gurgaon/Noida. Never happens. Stuck with Arun Jaitley. nitinbwj 1
rollingstoned Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Why has this stadium never been modernised? Several tier 2 City stadiums look much better. nitinbwj and raki05 2
sensible-indian Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 This stadium is an insult to India. On top of that, there is smog. I love the pitch and outfield tho. Shaping up to be a super fun test match. raki05 and Lord 2
Sean Bradley Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Needs a complete revamp, Eyesore Ugly Bullcrap. Find the architect of this stadium and him. cowboysfan and sage 1 1
Popular Post coffee_rules Posted February 17, 2023 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2023 What a view sorak, Gollum, AuxiliA and 8 others 11
AuxiliA Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Those ugly, mismatched AD banners make it far worse. The stadium looks much better during the IPL, when the decorations are aesthetic. BCCI should force the state associations to do away with those hideous banners and do some 'make-up' to atleast make the stadium look good on TV. raki05 1
cowboysfan Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 so painful to watch cricket here.Modi and the gujjus boys found money to build a gigantic stadium in Ahmedabad but we are stuck with this eyesore in the nations capital.how the * thought those stands were a good idea?. nitinbwj, Vijy, raki05 and 1 other 2 1 1

Generally IPL has meant that stadia and the outfields are kept in better condition throught the year than they otherwise would have been. Not sure despite having a franchise who plays there why nothing has been done about this ground.

zen Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Need to move away from such legacy stadiums (esp. in cities known for pollution). Some of the stadiums that should be looked in (in alphabetical order): A'bad, Dharamshala (picturesque location), Kolkata (still has some merit), Lucknow, Mohali (?), Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, etc.
Number Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 May be they wanted to keep the stadium clean and wanted to tell fans ki "Paan Bahar khao", not in the stadium.

That was the first thing I thought when I saw the highlights. What a shameful classless display!
cowboysfan Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 they should demolish this obscenity and build a new one.maybe make it the worlds 1st stadium with retractable roof and avoid the smog issue.
