When accosted, the woman had just got off an autorickshaw and was 50 metres from her house.With even a Karnataka minister, G Parameshwara, dismissing complaints about mass molestation during New Year's Eve celebrations at MG Road and Brigade Road as something "that happens in crowded places", the video serves as a reality check, proving that Bengaluru's residential areas are not safe either.The video emerged the same day Bengaluru commissioner of police Praveen Sood said his team had found credible evidence about the mass molestation, and "was working on the case silently". An FIR had been filed in the New Year Eve mass molestation incident, Sood added in a tweet on Tuesday night.The reader, who did not want to be identified, said: "I did not want to remain silent after seeing what happened on our street." The reader added, "I came to know about the incident when the woman came to my house with her friends on Monday, saying that she wanted to view the CCTV footage as she was groped by two youths nearby. What I saw in the video left me disturbed. If residential areas, too, are unsafe for women, where are they supposed to go?"SHOT BY SHOTThe video starts with an autorickshaw stopping on the road. A girl gets off and runs towards her house, while another is still in the auto, paying the fare. The second one then steps out, and she barely takes a few steps into a bylane when two men zoom past her on a scooter before intercepting her. One of the miscreants then gets off the two-wheeler, walks towards her, grabs her, molests her as she squirms and tries to push him away , and then drags her towards his friend, still on the scooter. The woman tries to hit him but he overpowers her and pushes her towards the scooter. The woman is then seen struggling to escape as the youths grope her and try to pull off her clothes. As she puts up stiff resistance, they push her to the road and ride away .The woman told the reader: "I don't know the people who attacked and molested me. It was bad. I realised that my wallet was missing after the incident. I guess they robbed me too." She said she didn't want to approach police as it would be of no use given the fact that the government itself acknowledged that such things happened in the city. "Why create nuisance for ourselves?" she told her friends.When TOI reported the incident to police, the jurisdictional DCP, Ajay Hilori, got in touch with the reader and commenced an investigation. Now, SP's Abu Azmi blames the victims Senior SP member Abu Azmi has said that incidents like the alleged mass molestation "happen when half-clothed women are out on the streets late at night". veer Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 Its too easy for me to say while sitting at work desk in an American City.. but only citizens can make an impact on streets.. Law and Order won't be able to reach every corner of the city... Similar thing happened in 2015 (0r 2016) in Mumbai or Delhi where CC TV caught entire footage.. One foreigner girl got molested and robbed by someone on street. She screamed and few kids playing cricket near by ran after that guy and caught him. Guys need to on a look out and stand up where these things happening. Girls need to start carrying spray or something to hit back...

coffee_rules Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Bad press is more because of politics?...such incidents do happen every year on new year's eve..People have stopped going there..I wonder what is special this year..I am not saying it is a good thing to have happened...but press seems have to awakened this year and have turned a blind eye all these years. Too sad, these incidents have increased in Blore..Not because of influx, but too many men doing nothing..berozgaari ..they all were doing some real-estate agent work..otherwise.

It does not mean 'instruct/drone out laws/morality' towards children. Sexual maturity is a very hard time for most people, because you get flooded with hormones and feel like except for your peers (other kids going through the same thing), you can't talk to anyone else. Indian parents (or most parents for that matter), treat talking about sex with their kids as waging nuclear war- under no circumstances will they bring it up on their own accord and even if the kid brings up questions about sex, there is stunned silence and redirection of conversation by parents. So how do you expect kids to work out what is valid way of expressing sexuality, what is invalid, what is dangerous,etc. if they can't get guidance on it ? Most kids will try once or twice and then get discouraged (kids aren't stupid. they know when mom/dad are avoiding a topic or all they will get is 'beta, treat women like Ram treated Sita/Bible/Koran me kaha hai yeh karo/yeh na karo' type droning lecture). Sex drive is one of the strongest drive people have-that is our evolution talking. End of the day, your body cares most about food, shelter & procreation. Everything else, is fluff on top/luxuries,not necessities from your body's perspective. Yet, we suppress any talk of sexuality or sexual preferences, etc. as if its same as starting nuclear war.
