Even when election season is far away, going anti-China doesn't evoke emotion so basically a futile exercise for BJP. I mean when they won't gain it, then why bother at all. During election time, they have something to lose by going against China, so they will keep deflecting blame. What country needs is secondary, what party needs is primary.
