KL rahul is the most mentally weak batsman India has produced in last two decades

KL Rahul is still world no.3 ranked T20 player. He is a game changer. His place is not under threat. So there is no reason for him to feel pressure.  He is a true 360 degree player. In full flight can win matches single-handedly.

But then this will mean they will drop Kishan once Rohit is back.

I think he is majorly insecure about his place in the side once again now that Pant has got back the gloves and as a result is so tentative, that it looks like he is trying ever so hard to play safe and not throw it away.

Its unfortunate that he had to warm the bench for best part of 3 months and now maybe form is just not there to back him up. He is a special player..him alongside Kishan could be the opening partnership we've been looking for in this format

He seems tentative and keeps getting out to swing bowlers, also with Rohit coming in at any time his place is not secure, however TM must look into the possibility of slotting him in the middle order as they did in ODI's. He can anchor better than Iyer and finish as well as SKY.

Rohit

Kishan

Kohli

Pant

Rahul

Hardik

Jadeja

Shardul

Sundar

Bumrah

Nattu

Need a more wicket taking set of bowling. Forego Jaddu and include Varun C .

I think insecure execuse would not work now.. As he adapted the same approach in ipl where he is captain of the team. Many time he started rapidly but then played slow once settled in which causes his team exit from KO. When he first started in t20 he was out and out dasher even during ipl he make his mark on back of fastest half century. But somehow as soon as he became captain he went in to cell. He should play aggressively like he used to do in past or else he wont be able to survive especially when pant is full time keeping and Kishan is also there as an backup.

KL has earned his stripes and he hasnt crossed 30 yet. How old is SKY btw?

I think he is getting a lot of advices, and somebody is playing with his head..Maybe some GF, or a nosy coach or a well meaning uncle

He just needs to shut them off, and get on with his game

Dravid and Kumble must step in here...

Rahul seems to be under pressure more often than not. Even when he is doing well, he looks very grim and brooding.

Sometimes looks can be we deceptive but probably not the case with Rahul.

He needs to unclutter his mind and think positively.

Just like Pant, KL needs his position to be guaranteed and be given the license to not put a price on his wicket and go for the runs.

In full flight, he is a game changer. At their peak I would rather KL ahead of Iyer in the current T20.

The last time he batted before this T20I series was in Dec in Australia. T20Is really arent the best format to get back into some kind of batting touch, especially on a "two paced" pitch. Management should assure him his place is not under threat; he is too good a bat in this format.

sitting on the bench for 8 tests on the trot has made him totally out of any game time

KL has not played competitive cricket since Aus tour so may need a few games to get going ... Many of the guys who are doing well played in tests too so are in relatively good rhythm ... T20 does not allow you more time to settle in so may need to hit out at times to sink or swim

After every game if stock price of a cricketer changes, there is something wrong with the fans

Consider this -

Hardik Pandya averages 18.5 from his 45 matches with a strike rate of 144.

Rahul averages 41.7 from his 47 matches with a strike rate of 144.

If SDP bats in the top order, his avg would be higher too, along with a greater SR ... buddy, classic mistake of comparing #s of players who bat at different positions, playing different roles ...  while a Kishan can perform well in top order too, very few can excel in lower middle order with only a few balls to go and with death over specialists bowling, which is why he is preferred there (he can do the rough job).... Also everyone knows SDP is a different batsmen since the last few years, missing a few games when in good form through injury

Was not a comparison to take a dig at Pandya. Just to showcase that Rahul is doing well.

Rest I wont debate.

Then you need to compare with the right players in right order :dontknow:

I read your posts including when you quote me and I am usually like this poster needs a lot of explaining so I just skip
