Rishabh Pant is too hackish to succeed consistently at this level.

walked in with RR at 8 plus

middle order made up of slow batsman

first world cup appearance aged 21 in a glamour tie

I agree that his technique is not ideal. But its not that he was given good conditions. indian middle order atm needs a hack.

Also when pant-pandya was the only partnership when it looked like we had a chance. Had Pant stayed a bit longer with pandya, story could have been different. That shot was on for Pant.

It was a brilliant catch..above normal.

Dhoni and Sehwag looked like hacks too if you looking from that perspective, when they first came.

Dhoni has 148 in his 5th innings alone while this dude couldn't even get past 36 till now :cantstop:

That Bat flying in the air is the best part of his innings yesterday and the way he got out was awful some maxwell afridi type hacking..

Pant has a century in a test in England on his first tour which Dhoni never got. Different players adapt differently and take their own time settling into international cricket. Once you give them a proper run in the middle order or any place, this will prosper. With so much pressure of World Cup line up preparation on management, they haven't been able to given proper chance to any of the youngsters. Pant was part of that queue who never really got a proper run in ODI'S. Pant was lucky that Saha got injured and that he could get a proper chance in Test, and he grabbed that chance and there is no way anyone can replace Pant now in Test Matches. Same thing will happen in ODI's or can happen once Pant is given proper run post World Cup.

England can play two keepers because both of them are outstanding fielders.Pant is not a good fielder , if he was good fielder I think he would have gotten more chances as batsman before this world cup.Unless Dhoni retires Pant cannot fit into this team.

Dhoni could not hit an international 100 outside Asia in his entire career of 15 years. Pant scored 2 int’l 100s  in first 6 months of his career.

BTW Pant has batted in a grand total of 5 ODI innings so far, scored 125 runs@25

Dhoni after 4 innings had 22 runs@7, highest of 12. His then captain had the foresight to see what he can do and sent him at 3.

Pant’s captain and vice captain mock him as they have to protect  their 38 yr over the hill ‘mentor’.

Asking  a guy who bats at #6 to score 100 is like asking a keeper who never bowled to take 5 wicks. :cantstop:

BTW Dhoni faced 20 balls in those 4 innings and Not out once:hatsoff:Its funny how you are blaming Virat and Rohit for his failures :phehe::phehe:

I’m concerned about his batting. We knew his hackish batting... He’s not understanding the huge battle we are fighting against the Dhoni brigade... His hack batting is allowing M$D, his PR team and fans to go around with “we told you guys” attitude...

We need a solid performance from him to counter the Tuk Tuk (sounds like Tukde Tukde) Gang... :giggle:

What about Dhoni's batting in his first WC? Pant has done pretty well till. Yesterday's innings was inconsequential.

His point is Dhoni brigade will use any ammunition they can get to justify Dhoni's approach

Exactly, the other day Indian tail perished quickly. The TukTuk Gang latched on to the opportunity and justified Dhoni’s Tuk Tuk approach because the tail is fragile...

Nobody’s asking Pant getting dropped and not give him time. Unfortunately in WC only 2 matches maximum remaining... He can take all his time to improve in any bilateral series. There’s not much time left here and he needs to quickly adapt, which means cut out early hoiks, not try cross batted shots early on and try to take some singles before launching on his hoiks...
