I think its also too late to play Mayank, time will tell. Mayank/Jedhav/DK are not going to win a game nor are they going to get close to setting up a par score if Hitman and Kohli fail. Top 3 batsmen are going to have to play the game of their lives in the semi. Game will probably be decided by the toss of the coin, if India chase, game is over. 6 bowlers of the quality of Bumrah, Shami, Bhuvi, Chalal, Jadeja and Pandya can defend the total but also make sure that England get only par or under. Basically we will be having 4 dud batsmen and Bhuvi in the backend. Whether they score 300 or 350 everything has to be done by top 6 one of which is Dhoni. We cannot go with the theory "he won't do worse". No he can do worse. You have wage your bets on their skills not based on what they might do. We don't know what they will do. But you have to back their skills. Karthik's skill is finishing skills, handling steep asking rate while chasing. Loading up the team with 5 proper bowlers and 1 all rounder bowlers is overkill for a team like England. More bowlers don't mean more wickets. They won't make drastic changes. They will have a look at jaddu, kkd (again) against Srilanka and make the call. flamy and Vijy 1 1
