nevada Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Typically players announce retirement to avail retirement benefits. Dhoni is so rich that he can hold off on the announcement for another 10 years to troll fans and keep supporters happy. Real McCoy 1

bowl_out Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 How does it even matter? He is as good as retired anyway.. It is just the announcement that is left to be done.

No, this is not over until the T20 WC is over. Kohli and Shastri could fight for his inclusion for the tournament due to his experience.
Vilander Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 he got dropped from the squad how does it matter now. Dhoni messed his retirement, he had a chance to retire on his terms earlier, now anything he does is forced.

Dhoni is waiting to play his last competitive game for CSK when he is still not retired from International cricket. His brand value for CSK will diminish if he announces his retirement now. Hope Kohli and Shastri don't prove me wrong. nevada 1

Plus there is complete fresh set of auctions next year, so he might think it is logical to end his CSK stint there.
ShoonyaSifar Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 4 months and counting. The break going on forever. How can he be allowed to skip the VZ trophy. Absolutely no regard for domestic cricket. If it was a mini-IPL, he would gladly put on the CSK jersey but playing for Jharkhand is beneath his stature. Maybe because last time he played, he struggled badly.

Fans dont think at all Even if he plays a farewell game in Indian colours, he will play a few more seasons in CSK just like how Sachin, Dravid, Ponting, Ganguly, Lee played for a while after their national stint was done. There won't be any anticipation in next year's IPL New guy 1
