QuarantineTormentino
Does this mean Pant isn’t getting picked on the first xi? If so would be travesty Link to comment

Although I sense many might feel anxious reading this, or get triggered. Not as reasonable. Why exactly is he making comments on Pant's batting or keeping? And these comments seem very well thought out. It does seem clear that he has been told to be ready to be the keeper in the England series. Exactly what some of us have been predicting Link to comment

bowl_out
Maybe Pant will play as a batsman and Saha keeps? That means only 4 bowlers? Poor decision if they go with that Adamant and express bowling 2 Link to comment
IndianRenegade
Unnecessary veiled comments. Why is a making comments about what kind keeper(specialist) should be selected when he in an active member of team who is considered a specialist keeper, dropped in favor of Pant who is picked more for his batting ability? RajBan
These are snippets taken out of a larger conversation and subjective interpretation by the reporter. And then tons of reactionary posts based on that in social media. We should be better than that assuming none are school children. Read his full interview from HT and I felt he spoke like a normal person who will fight for his position. Cricket_Fan, sorak and GoldenSun 3 Link to comment
Lannister
No it is not... lol. You are a waste of place and time if you cannot bat. This is not gymnastics. Adamant, Stan AF and Sgattick10 2 1 Link to comment

If team management errs and chooses Saha for England tests, it's on them, not Saha. Team mates commenting on their 'competitors' is not a very healthy thing. Imagine Pant talking bout Saha's batting and why modern keepers have to score runs as well. There will be immediate calls for him to be ousted from the team Sgattick10, vijaydude, IndianRenegade and 1 other 4 Link to comment

I am just saying this creates an unnecessary situation in the dressing room. He should avoid questions on selections & just talk about what he brings to the table rather than veiled comparison with pant. But at the end of the day it’s on the team to decide, I hope the decide on Pant. He will drop a few chances, but he will not improve unless he gets a few games. He has clearly shown that he is the future with the knocks against Australia, one should be blind not to see it. Screopho 1 Link to comment
GautiMaan
So shall we play with 9 wickets and Saha can go and keep for the opposition also when his turn to bat comes, what with him being a specialist and all. Link to comment
dilliboy
He knows his career is almost over after Pant's heroics in Brisbane.. Trying to make himself relevant by arguing how important his wicketkeeping is for India nitinbwj and putrevus 2 Link to comment
rkt.india
Saha will play that's so obvious. Pant is an overseas specialist only. helperononline and Suhaan 1 1 Link to comment

Might decide to pick him as a specialist batsman though. Still can't believe India persists with a 36 year old when you have talents like Pant and Kishan waiting to takeover Link to comment

While most of the young inexperienced vagabonds, who dared to defeat the mighty in a far-away land, will get their chances to score centuries and take fifers too, albeit in video games which they will be playing in the comfort of the dressing room. And the Court Jester cum baby sitter maybe banished for cracking one joke too many against the mighty king !! Remember how he treated Karun Nair, or before that Pant and Kuldeep, or Gill, Siraj and a host of other youngsters, even Pujara and Rahane for that matter. They are all pawns in his bigger game and he will move them the way he wants. It's all about his whims. Grooming players or being treated the same way how his captains and seniors treated him, does not matter at all. nevada 1 Link to comment
