+1. This is just one tour that he is captain for. Despite whatever tactical  limitations he has a captain, India was expected to win both series .

Dhawan is a chilled out, friendly senior player that the youngsters can feel comfortable around. In terms of fitness and work ethic he is a good role model. Every player was given chances, and they failed to make it count.

Bhuvi/Pandey could have been made captain, and we could have rotated the opener’s position between DDP, Shaw and Ruturaj  throughout the series. We could have also used this opportunity to blood one of the youngsters (Kishan/Shaw who have both captained their sides in u19 wcs) to take over from Kohli. Don’t even understand why we even had to pick Dhawan for this tour, in fact we could have selected Raina in his place and it would have made more sense

We dint have any other option with so many debutants, who should have been the captain according to you? He dint do that bad a job in ODI series, he was clueless towards  the fag end of the T20 series, quite understandable, his entire team was changed overnight and everything fell on his shoulders, I think Dhawan did a decent job, and must but lauded.

Same here, i thought he did the best he could give the hand he was dealt.

He won't be a part of the playing 11 in the WT20. One of the openers will be Rohit which is fixed and other would be either Rahul or Kishan. 

 

Dhawan ki toh jagah hi nahi banti team main.

Who else but Kohli-Shastri. Someone younger successfully leading the tean would have become a competitor. Why take even the slightest risk.
