Sundar ruled out of t20 series, Kuldeep yadav replaces him

What is the selection logic to replace a bowling allrounder who bowls off spin in the power play with a pure wrist spin bowler who can only bowl in the middle.

I am not saying Kuldeep doesn’t deserve to be selected but what exactly is the “process” and logic these selectors follow. I am curious.

There's no like to like replacement for Washington. Spinners don't bowl in powerplay, he is an exception. Don't need to bring Ashwin just for that:cantstop:

Kuldeep already with the squad. Any other player will have to quarantine. Covid days.

I am not an Ashwin fan. You are mistaking me with someone else.

all I was saying is we hear “process” a million times but I thought process and logic are interdependent:

You see this many times with our selections, an allrounder is injured he is replaced with a wicket keeper, an opening batsman gets replaced with a leg spinner, a fast bowler gets a replaced by a middle order bat.

I don’t see a pattern. That’s what I was asking.

Not confusing you with anyone. My logic was that we cannot replace Washington with anyone. Do we have other off-spinners who can bat (well). Ashwin is only Indian spinner who can bowl in powerplay, besides Washi. But going with him is a step backward.

Something seriously wrong with our players. So many injuries including relapse of injuries to players.

Strength and Conditioning coach Vasu Shanker's departure due to nepotism charges in NCA fitness trainer selection seems to have started this never ending cycle of injuries.

He should change last name to injured. Good talent but seems like doesn’t take care of body and also for 20 off this is crazy getting injured so many times

Have a feeling he gets injured fielding. He looks so natural with bat and ball but looks like a deer in headlights while fielding.

He probably fields cautiously to prevent injury.

Sundar,Gill,Rohit(due to age maybe) are getting injured too frequently and recovery is too long

What's up with this Sundar getting injured so frequently? It appears to be a problem of fitness. He should get a hold of his injury issues if he wants to play international cricket for a long time.
