Umran-Kuldeep and other net bowlers facing visa issues

KSW understands that Umran, who was supposed to join Team India in Australia as a net bowler for World Cup, has been facing some issues regarding his visa alongside Kuldeep Sen and a few more bowlers. So, until the issue is solved, Umran will be part of J&K team in the T20 tourney.

So him and Sen are not getting matches vs South Africa because they are supposed to be net bowlers for Indian batters.

Now they are not with the team either because of Visa issues.

I'd prefer them stay here in India and play competitive cricket & spend time with their families than bowling to losers like Kela and Kohli in Aussie nets. All these talented youngsters will never get an opportunity until we ge0t rid of Dravids, Kohlis & Rohits.

They can get that experience in India for the rest of their lives. The WC is a short duration too.

 

Just being a part of that environment in a foreign country will do more for their development than playing useless matches in India.

Its not just about bowling in the nets, its about being part of a professional team and also in a major world tournament. Even if they dont play this experience will hold them in good stead when they play for India

Kartik Tyagi was net bowler last time India won test series in Australia. Where is he now? Not even picked as a net bowler since then. There is no planning and continuity. Just random selection.

What you are saying is correct.

 

But one issue that has arisen in the past is that net bowlers are often dumped as they " don't have domestic cricket numbers " to support them. This is hilarious actually if the domestic competition has overlapped with the foreign tour. Shows lack of planning and professionalism.

 

Buts things are how they are.

Some net bowlers work their way to getting test debuts, other fade away.  Some of it is up to the player in question also.

McGrath, Lee and M.Clark were very impressed with the way Tyagi bowled in practice games in Australia on that tour.

Karthik tyagi has sheer pace and there is no doubt about that.

 

Dravid/Paras mhambrey /sairaj bahutale( bowling coach of vvs's team)- it is their job to get him to bowl right Line and length. 

 

 We had a bowling coach from Mumbai Police gymkhana and he used to say before the over to bowl on 4th stump or fifth or sixth and he hated full tosses ( even yorkers as yorkers were picked as full tosses). Our bowlers ( some times even myself who was not a bowler during my corporate days) obeyed like cats and bowled on the same Line ..length did vary.

 

Bowling coach's job is not very tough, just that he has to get the bowler to Practice a lot if he is going wrong. 

i had noticed that during Bharat Arun's bowling coach times - Our fast bowlers Shmmi , umesh and Ishant had got into some serious good line and length in tests and he got some of our trundlers also to Improve.

i am not sure why was bharat Arun dumped when his performance was "Brilliant".

Yes 100% agree with this.

 

I think we are both right here. Youre right in saying they need the numbers to support them, ie wickets, Im right in saying they need the international experience.
