VK has done nothing new. He has been a giant in domestics for many years now, and on that basis been given a chance in Intl cricket and found out and selectors/team mgmt has moved on from that phase. He continues to be a giant in domestics, and hasn't done anything new (such as new additional pace added, or new action, nothing) . He just continues to be a leading wicket taker in domestics (good for him), that he ALWAYS was. What has changed now?

But honestly Pankaj Singh was a pretty good bowler, he made the ball talk on that lifeless Southampton pitch and got Bell lbw 3 times, all of which were turned down due to no drs.

Pankaj Singh had a peak for 3 years or so but then went downhill. Also showed stamina issues in that tour where he would start at high 80s and end the day at high 70s.
