definitely a lower tier ATG atleast  .....one of the ATG ODI batsmen, one of the even rarer  elite chaser & finisher,  rarest of  highly clutch ODI finisher,

a very good test batsman,  a great WK in both formats, and a legendary ODI captain....... yes  he is  an ATG player, no doubt  .....thanks for all the great memories &  wish you  all the best MS.

What a champ. The one who ended the drought of silverware for India after an agonizing 24 years, an asset to have in limited overs format as a wicketkeeper, captain & a finisher. Took team India to the next level & made a force to reckon with. 
Stamped his authority everywhere & got us WC's in ODI & T20 format, Champions Trophy, Asia Cups, test no.1 etc. Used to envy other team's WK batsmen when they had Gilchrist, Boucher, Kaluwitharana while we didn't had a proper WK batsman for a long time & then he arrived at the scene, changed everything with his amazing skills.
Thanks for giving us so many precious memories. Congrats to the man for such an amazing accomplished career & good luck for the future.

He will this years , now players want to play in leagues abroad i think thats a huge reason raina also retired as then only they can. There are talks of launching SL premier league in big way and they want big indian names . Now there are also t10 and god knws what leagues so they all can play and make money. Raina also talked about how indian player shud be allowed to play in leagues abroad. I expect bcci to bend some rules as well soon so they can play these leagues and ipl , if that happens expect more like rayudu jadhav yusuf uthappa
