Popular Post maniac Posted December 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 27, 2020 No matter how this match will turn out in the end, the way he has led the team after the disastrous 36 all out and then came out and batted in a tricky situation has to be respected. Also add the personal pressure he was under regarding his spot. Nothing but respect Khota, Sandeep99, tweaker and 7 others 10
Sandeep99 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 I know I called him names and he deserved the stick honestly but he lead this side beautifully so far. I have nothing but respect for the man. Full of heart. maniac and beetle 1 1
wanted_desi Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 The way he brought the best out of his guys is even just commendable. If we choose the best batsman to play in playing XI, why can't we choose someone who is better captain for the role without hurting someone's ego. sandsaims, express bowling, beetle and 5 others 1 7
Number Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Oh pls. We were not going to get out 36 every innings. A scratchy 50 is not enough to wash his sins. He has been one of the worst investments in our test team. Not to forget he had a free ride with almost no returns in ODIs.
SK_IH Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Good innings, well played. But when someone is getting a free ride, he is bound to play a good innings somewhere down the line. This is how he has sustained that spot in the middle order for so long. Now, it's time he converts a single performance into a memorable tour akin to Kohli in 2014-15 & Pujara 2018-19. Get multiple hundreds, help India win/draw tests instead of rehashing the past inconsistent performances. Lord, express bowling and nevada 3
Vickydev Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Not yet..lets get over the line first. Hope the Indian media doesnt go overboard either. This team has all the abilities to do well, cant pass on praises when we are half way there express bowling 1
express bowling Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 (edited) Consistency is the key. Rahane hasn't been consistent yet. This innings buys him more time and gives him confidence. Now, it is upto Rahane to be be more consistent from now on. Edited December 27, 2020 by express bowling SK_IH, Sandeep99 and nevada 3
Vk1 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 brilliant job by Rahane so far. Wonder if Kohlis absence has got something to do with it?
Vk1 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Rahane should convert this into a defining innings of 140+ 80s and 90s wont help the team win the match express bowling 1
Ankit_sharma03 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 (edited) Well done rahane, absolute top knock.....u cant have more back to wall then this not great form team got drubbing got extra responsibilty of captaincy teams best batsman and captain leaves team in trouble Gloomy conditions Great bowling attack all this makes it a great knock Edited December 27, 2020 by Ankit_sharma03 express bowling, ThirtyD., Forever Indian and 1 other 4
jf1gp_1 Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 God helps those who help themselves. Got the team combo right, was aggressive on day 1 and then today backed himself .. Well done Rahane. beetle 1

Cricketics Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Lot of shyt was thrown at him after he got Kohli runout. Class response with calmness today. He did ride his luck today but he deserves it. He played well overall. Let me share something now since the timing to explain this earlier won’t have been recepted well as people were in the mood to kill Rahane that time. I still believe Kohli was equally guilty of that runout as half of the world did not notice that Kohli could have been out on batting end too had the throw been a direct hit ( you don’t need to take such quick runs) But people don’t understant these things during the heat of the moment so its better not told then. The timing to explain such things to people is now. Though Rahane screwed up by sending Kohli back, that run out was 40% Kohli’s mistake also. He could have said no right away too as danger end was also on batting end where Kohli was running towards, even though the fielder was likely first going to throw at non strikers end there is no evidence the fielder won’t have tried throwing on batting end. Spinner bowling and mid off fielder is standing up in a test match, you just don’t take a single that risky. Adamant, sandeep, nevada and 3 others 2 1 3
kubrickian Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Great knock under pressure. Hopefully, a match winning one. A lot more was expected from Rahane than his career avg of 43 and that's why the disappointment. Hope he becomes more consistent at home and overseas.

Gave a hint in the match thread when run out happened actually. Many people don’t focus certain things and bash players for no reason. I am not going to correct them at that time. As it is not the time to calm people lol as its actually futile with their adrenalin pumping. Many are already mad at Rahane’s poor run or were that time so that was last nail in the coffin to get Kohli run out. Fact is our middle order and top order bats are equally bad running between the wickets. They all have been shyt honestly when it comes to calling for a run. sandeep 1
Adamant Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Rahane himself apologized to Kohli as he knew it was his fault. That is the ultimate proof, no one knows what happened better than Rahane.
ravishingravi Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 When I saw him captain India in decisive test against Australia in India at Dharamsala, it was clear that him and Rohit are the best natural captains we have. Ganguly is head of BCCI. India cannot continue to lose due to shoddy leadership. The gang at the helm need to be dismantled. If Ganguly is waiting for more losses, I am happy to wait. But it has to be done. Rahane can average 40 for rest of his career. But he will be enormous asset as captain.
coffee_rules Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Respect where due. I will never call him Hahane. beetle, sandeep and maniac 3
