Be thick-skinned and prepare the Chennai Test2 kind of pitches for both Ahmedabad tests

Eng and NZ have a pretty thick skin when they prepare the most unplayable pitches that suit their bowlers.

 

Time we too do the same. Absent, we can kiss goodbye to the WTC finals  2021

If anything to go by SMAT final 2021, the central pitch is rank Turner. Perfect for left arm darters.

 

The side pitches were decent batting wickets.

 

Only issue is evening dew for d/n

There is no shame whatsoever in preparing pitches to suit our team. But can our batters do okay if batting second is the question.

Yeah if you're going for another dank turner - Ahmedabad will turn more because of the red soil but maybe not go over the top like this pitch. Then you have to load up the batting, we'll need at least another batter in there.

This is pessimistic attitude. Our team is good enough to win on any kind of pitches at home. What we don't want is pitch being flat road for first two days like in last match. I hope they prepare pitches that help both seem and spin in Ahmedabad

We have dominated on seaming pitches at home for 5+ years but somehow after one pitch, where we won toss, we should make all pitches rank turner? Thats bullshit, on such pitches batting last is impossible

Not against the likes of Eng/Aus - the two best test teams among the 4 - we can win on those tracks but no need to hand that advantage to England!

I will not be happy beating English on turning tracks. Turning tracks are prepared now a days in Lanka and india.

All others prepare fast bowling.

Preparing spin trackx  does not help us in long run.

I think we would be handing over advantage if we prepare such pitches and lose the toss. We have the best fast bowlers in the world, on fast pitches we will have the advantage

unpopular opinion but both the chennai pitches were bad.first pitch was bad as it gave the team batting 2nd no chance and he spinners were useless in the 1st inning.this pitch s unnecessary,we can prepare pitches which help help spinners but dont see a puff of dust every time a ball is being bowled.we have seen a lot of good pitches in india which were not rank turners but still helped the spinners.

D/N test pitch won't be a Turner that's for sure.  It'll have some life in it.  This pitch served its purpose & we will level the series in all likelihood.

Actually dont need a pitch which turns square from day 1, but need to have enough for bowlers. The problem is the pitches in Chennai for first 2 tests have been extreme. First one was slow and hardly helped bowlers for first 2 days. For second test, pitch looked like an 8th day pitch on day 1 with the surface exploding every over. Come 4th innings, you will hardly be able to bat on that pitch. 

 

India has been known to prepare pitches which offer good turn but where good batsmen can also apply themselves and score. You need a pitch like that for last 2 games.

Well again we need to give these venues characters ... chennai for spin . The first pitch was actually ok , but needed more grass ... moterra should be like mcg .. assist seam and provide bounce .. that would be ideal ..Indians have the muscle memory of playing on those tracks so they should be good to handle this pace attach .. we should not back away ..

Numbers by itself are BS. Some time later one will crunch stats and Ishant/Siraj having avg of 11 & 5 type figures will be used on justifying faster or greener tracks.

 

There's so many factors at play here:

 

- We're missing 75% of our best home attack, one of the injured three being a solid batsman & gun fielder as well. 

- Eng suck against spin on a tough track

- We can play a damn good turning track batting line up which can dominate games even after batting second on this track

- it helps to negate conditional advantages for Eng's fast bowling line up, which is a good all round attack compared to their spin bowling

- WTC :/

 

 

 

Our best 11 can make use of all home tracks but the above factors, primarily the first one made us use a turning track & it's worked well.
