How are we going to clear the long boundaries in the World Cup?

Just saw some highlights of WI vs Aus and holder couldn’t clear the boundary and got caught. And you know our maharathis love to take on the challenge and ignore the short boundaries and go for the long boundaries and get caught. We saw that in the slightly smaller boundaries at the Asia cup. Will our batsmen like Pant and Pandya learn?

Both Pant and Pandya are instinctively 'smarter' hitters than they get credit for.  Surya hasn't played in Aus so I think him adjusting to the bounce difference is more of a concern than boundary size. He is also a smart hitter who has a very good ability to target gaps instead of simply trying to hit over fielders.  Boundary size will come into play more for the 3 at the top - Rohit, KL and Virat.

Rohit has no issues there. Heads and shoulders above every foreigner player in Austrlaia in the history at least in one dayers. 30 matches 34 sixes. Next best are Viv Ricahrds 73 matches 33 sixes. In terms of balls per six only Afridi is ahead of him. Not too many sample in T20. Even there Kohli has 12 sixes in 11 matches.

We have won last two T20 series in Australia. T20 WC is all about pressure.

MCG is the biggest ground. In t20 not many foreigners have hit big sixes. Kusal Mendis 4 highest. Among the second highest Dhawan and Rohit 2 sixes :) In one dayers Rohit has 7 sixes in 7 matches at the MCG.

Spot on. Collapsing against lulloo bowlers is the issue. And also our trundler merchants cannot defend any total below 220.

They crumble under pressure and when playing different attacks in a tournament. Bilateral t20s have less pressure and same attack.

Now they are batting with added pressure of least reliable blunt bowling attack..

So unfair..playing having back of the mind that even 220 isnt  enough..

Pant, HItman, Pandya cleared boundaries comfortably in Australia last time.

 

Kohli wont, hell I would be happy if he is close to 100 SR.

 

In the BBL they do rope in the boundaries, so while the ground are bigger, the actual playing area may be similar to India.

KL didn't have any problem in clearing boundaries there.

Pandya will probably take on any boundary in the world.

Rohit, KL, Sky, Pandya will have no issues to clear the boundary but other batsman will need to time well to clear.

 

More than sixes..issue will be how India are manage many assho**s in the fielding like Chahal, Bhuvi, Arshdp etc. Need strong arm to prevent doubles from the outfield. We all know how strong Chahal, Bhuvi etc

Where is the we lol, lale you are a 5 foot malnutrition sample from land of fafda. You won’t clear any ****, Indian team players would.

Rohit is probably the biggest six hitter on this planet. KL, Pant, Pandya, DK all can hit 85m+ ones with ease (about SKY not sure especially longer boundaries in those conditions), heck even Ashwin has started tonking 90m+ ones in recent times. Kohli will rely more on running and piercing gaps for 4s, he has his methods and can still maintain 130-140 SR. 6 hitting won't play that big a role in Aus unlike other places, WI will struggle because of that.

 

More worried about our lack of fitness, old/lethargic fielders etc, opponents will milk us for 2s and 3s even when we are bowling well. Imagine them requiring 25 in final 2 overs, even if Arshdeep and co. land 8-9 perfect yorkers they can still win on the back of exploiting our groundfielding on those humongous grounds. Chahal, Bhuvi, Harshal, Siraj/Shami, Ashwin, how many can you hide in this age of 360 cricket? Even SKY, Rohit, Axar are slow on the field.....KL is decent, Kohli and Pandya above average, DK is quick but because of his fidgety nature expect him to fumble a lot.

Not a problem for us. Our batters are good at shot selection and can also hit big. In fact it will help our bowlers who don't offer much pace.

 

But the big problem might be fielding. Good teams will run 2-3 runs easily against some of our dodos.

KL, Sharma, Pandya, SKY will have no problem on clearing boundaries. Kohli will run like a demon and score lots of 2's and id in form, hits lots of 4s. He doesn't need sixes TBH. DK is blessed with timing.

Doesn't it? 

 

Considering the record of Kohli in t20s in Aus, I think he would be our best player.
