Dhoniconda suffocating India now

Recommended Posts

54 Runs scored by India between the 21st and 40th overs, including just one boundary. In those 20 overs, the most productive over was of five runs, the 39th over. Dhoni had faced more than half the deliveries in that phase and scored at the lowest strike rate - 36.92 (24 runs off 65 balls). Only thrice since 2001, India scored fewer runs in that phase in an ODI. West Indies had scored 88 runs in that phase.

Good to see this place alive again. It was so gloomy the other day as India won and Dhoni was MOTM, now a loss and all is well.

A very good example of disillusional fan you are, Dhoni is now a Dhonighat, opposition uses him for dhulai of his own team, what an embarrassment for once a great ODi cricketer now a joke.I wish someone show him the mirror n he realise he is not even a pale shadow of his former self a sheer waste now as a batsmen.

When Pandya came in to bat:

India required 74 of 86

Dhoni.    31(71)

Pandya.   0(0)

When Pandya got out :

India required 30 of 31

Dhoni.     49(107)

Pandya.   20(21)

Inference:   Dhoni scored 18 from 36 freaking deliveries in this phase. Strike rate of 50. :hysterical:

But dhoni alone should not be blamed? Matches are won by team and lost by team but usually you pick one or few who was/were most reponsible for losing. Saying everyone is to blame is like saying sky is blue. Doesnt make any sense.

It actually wouldn't be wrong to say he single handedly lost us the match. The reason it was still run a ball chase because of Pandya's 20(21). He has to take chances because dhoni was crawling at the other end.

this guy is in some parallel universe, this is what happens when you had a flawed approach of chasng targets all your life and you try to emulate it when you are not good enough anymore, you get exposed

Didn't you call Sachin's 100 against Bangla selfish despite team scoring 293 and being unable to defend? What would you call this 50? Was it selfish? For personal milestone? Average?

There are some knocks you shouldn't defend no matter how big a fan you are. That 100 by Sachin is one.

For Dhoni I would say his knock against Pak in SF 2011 despite us winning.

Btw I don't see how you can relate this knock to that 100. There if not for Sachin we would've scored 330 and here if not for Dhoni we wouldn't even cross 120.

I agree Dhoni batted slowly but he was anchoring the innings on a sluggish pitch where it was not easy to score boundaries. If he had gotten out early, India wouldnt have even got close. If someone had batted half decently from other end, India would have won the game.

That's why KL Rahul is an ideal No.4 for this team. He can bat both positively and can build partnerships. He is good against pace and spin. But he needs to recover from his injury and needs time to cement his place in ODIs. Hopefully that will happen in the near future.

Something is not right... India is a top team and randomly/selectively losing matches to keep other teams/fans motivated in the cricketing World is not the way forward for BCCI to gain support from other boards on various issues.

Senior players themselves should tell BCCI that Country comes first. No more wheeling and dealings as far as countries reputation is concerned... Also by losing matches like this they are creating more suspicion...

Enough of this "Sabka Saath,Sabka Vikaas"...

Even the winning opponents can't believe they won on AutoPilot...
