India's domination of cricket about to get really rolling.

While our test team just bossed England in their own house, in unfavorable conditions, not one, but TWO of our secondary teams just demolished the 'A' teams of 2 of the top cricket nations. Both Australia A and South Africa A have been schooled by our A and B teams.  A closer look at the players involved - on both sides of the game show that the touring A squads are stacked with some of the best prospects those teams have.

I just hope our fans can handle all the winning:p:

You are beginning to sound like Donald Trump with all this winning talk and thinking all the other teams will just roll over the moment India steps on the field. Just a test ago, our batting began and ended with Kohli, we couldn't catch shite, and our bowlers blew a golden opportunity on Lords' bowling paradise.

Give it a rest.

Maybe in tests. We are unstoppable at home and competitive overseas.

In white ball cricket, nothing will change unless selection process is reformed. It is 2018 and Dhoni is still WK in T20s and ODIs, Unadkat/Kaul/Kulkarni our spearheads, Raina the X factor, Pandey the dynamic middle order batsman and DK the standby keeper...oh and don't even mention the Rahane 'floater' experiment, gives me chills. Domination means winning big tournaments, what have we done post 2013 CT? Sri Lanka, Australia, West Indies, Pakistan have won the big events since then and now even 2019 WC looks a distant dream. We are in the middle of a very long title drought.

2002 CT

2007 WT20

2011 WC

2013 CT

5 years have passed, going to be 6 by the time the WC starts. This is our longest drought and if we fail to win the WC then this will be our worst phase in limited overs formats since the start of the millennium. Worst thing is right now there is no ATG team like vintage WI/Aus and we are persistently failing despite having 3 major ICC tourneys unlike 90s when we had a WC every 4 years. Rankings and JAMODIs are useless, have to start choking less in summit clashes.

There are couple of issues keeping us from being a dominant side.

No established test bats except Virat.

Joke of a middle order in one days.

Not enough quality batsmen coming through im afraid. We have found 1 Kohli but where are the other top order batsmen who can make big hundreds ? Bowling wise there is quite a bit of potential there. No arguments.

In white ball cricket, I believe it's more a case of wrong selections. If we continue to pick has beens like yuvi, Raina , dhoni ,Karthik, jadhav and fail to prepare well in advance for the World Cup you can expect nothing but dismal performances.

We have the best U-19/A setup with them Playing loads and loads of games in all formats.

Kudos to BCCI on this front.

The talent will only start pouring into the national team now. Good times ahead.

The easiest to dominate would be Test cricket .

       Test Bowling :-

       1. Current pace group may be 2nd best in world cricket (BTW overall world standard is pretty low) and this will become only

stronger when new set of pacers join in. We may catch up to AUs team level when some new pacers mature in 2 years time .

       2. We have the best spin bowling group  for home conditions in Ash, Jaddu & Kuldeep. We need only 1 very good leg spinner

or mystery spinner ( i.e. spinner one cannot make out which type of delivery is coming)

That to me almost as good as no.1 bowling attack as per current  test team bowling statndards.

       Test Batting :-

Not a good set at present due to wrong selection , bad technique by capable players.

Needs a clear thinking from selectors & team management. Due to ODI/T20 , many test quality players have lost their game .           Case in point - Rahane , Rahul .

        They need to :

               1. Identify who are your best available test batsmen & do not consider them for shorter format . This must be clearly

made known to such batsmen. By selecting them for shorter format you mess up everything. Take Rahane - since

he is getting selected now & then  for shorter  format , he is tyring to adapt to one day mode . Due to that his test

batting quality has gone down .

             2.  Finalise best format for muti format players :-  For some of the players playing  both the formats , they need to see                        their performances and continuous failure in one format shall prompt them to restrict that player to the format he does

best. The possession of required test match technique need to considered .

Eg:-   If Rahul cannot re capture his Test match form , better to consider him only for one day. However  may need to

give a little long rope as he was a success in test match format earlier , while Shikhar is a fit case for shorter version.

            3.   Going forward select some 4-5 young players who have a better test match batting technique & temperament and have

some intensive training camps on lively pitches - Swinging conditions , Bouncy pitches year round.

            4.  Have a special  1 month coaching before a overseas tour simulating that country's pitch conditions as much as

possible.  Even players should do this on their own.

            5.  Coaching staff to provide inputs to batters on various  weakness areas to work out and assess the improvement .

            6. Land atleast 2weeks early in that overseas country and play atleast 2 3 day games with full intent.

I am 100% sure we will have worthy replacements for Shikar , Pujara  as well better middle order palyers .
