Global.Baba Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Loved this absolute trashing. Losing to Eng a year and a half ago didn’t make a difference, Lost to Aus last year but same old crap in the wc. Semis should have been a wake up call but what happens next, we have 2 series against Wi, Sl and Bangladesh and everything is forgotten. I think a proper trashing here might(keyword) bring some changes ala England 2015 WC. Wishful thinking Hope we get absolutely trashed here and all you Bharat sipahis out there especially @Cricketics and @sandeep Stay away, a proper asskicking is what is needed right now. Not a jinx thread. Who gives a crap about this meaningless series anyways, only positive outcome will be a total annihilation by the Aussies. vice Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 This is a useless ODI series. India is making the same mistake they did prior to the ODI World Cup. The focus was entirely on Test cricket and had very little focus on preparation for the WC whereby they had 3 match ODI series. I'm seeing the same pattern for the T20WC although, atleast some of the selections are better than those for the last ODI WC.
Hakuna Matata Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 The only worry thing is shreyas Iyer. Everyone thought he is our no. 4 . But after looking how poorly he batted against the aussie attack I have doubts now. RAZPOR 1

Stan AF Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Indian team has always found it difficult to win against a full strength Aussie side. They're just too good with both wicket taking bowlers in Cummins and Starc. Starc and Cummins were both a cut above our bowlers and that was all the difference that was needed. Unless Rohit or Kohli fire every game it is impossible for us to defeat them. This loss alone is a nasty wake up call and paints a clear picture of where our team is in terms of real opposition. Imagine fighting against a full strength aussie/english side in a triangular. We'll get pasted everyday. Sgattick10 and nevada 2

Norman Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Hope ? Lol. That's inevitable. Unless ofcourse, Aussies decide to rest key players after winning the second one. Even then, they have enough firepower to annihilate us let alone beat us.
Sandeep99 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Haha we’re all fools, aren’t we? BCCI will arrange a 3 match ODI series against our whipping boys Lanka - rest Rohit or Bumrah, win it and all will be forgotten while we’re on about how great and sky is the limit for this side. So easy right.. Kohli is a very intelligent fellow. Turning_track, nevada, raki05 and 2 others 2 3
Cricwala Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 lets not over-estimate this Aussie attack - we have all seen in 2018 test series how Starc can wilt when put under pressure - yes, different formats and all, but still he gives you hittable deliveries every now and then. Richardson, Zampa, Agar all can be collared. Only standout guy is Cummins who is really on top of his game right now, so he needs to be respected - target 45 off his 10 giving 1-2 wickets at most. We need to deploy attacking bowlers against the Aussies. Kulcha pair if given confidence to attack will always eke out 3-4 wickets for you in middle overs. (Kuldeep's batting also has potential to give 15-20 runs down the order). If you have proper gameplans, all of the Aussie batters can be worked out, especially Warner - he's a beast if you let him dominate you from the start...cramp him up or try something unorthodox like Kuldeep first up, sledge him about sand-paper gate or how Broad had his number in Ashes. NZ showed how to keep Smith quiet and strangle him out (https://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/will-new-zealands-plan-to-steve-smith-work-again-in-melbourne/news-story/35c45acdd4d471a0e8d93769ed4cb4e3) -- but in India, we go orgasmic when Dhoni says 'isko chota daal' and batsmen gets stumped the next ball - for us, that is the height of cricketing smarts. Bumrah, Saini, Thakur/Shami, Kul-Cha with Iyer bowling 2-3 overs when needed (tell him if he wants to stay in team, he needs to work on bowling) can do the job. Plan well, get in the faces of Aussies, field like your lives depended on it ......but right now, this team is confused because the leader is confused and the coach is a rubber-stamp. express bowling and S_pace 1 1

vishalvirsingh Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Saini will be back and get Warner. Expect boom bumrah and shammi also to break them. Bumrah is sardar ..(I m hindu jaat I know what he is)..if he doesn't get the openers out ...he will break them. Shammi is a tiger bowler ...expect him to rock. If saini gets to replace shardul ..I will be sure of indian win. Dont expect that sissy spinner to catch virat again... India may win 2-1. nevada, RAZPOR and Suhaan 3
R!TTER Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 I don't, I want India to win & Kohli to give up LO captaincy! For me the team & it's win is above all, whether it be Kohli, cheers leader or their combined harem RAZPOR and Turning_track 2
prudent_kreeda Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 A loss esp a whitewash will be a good thing since 50 overs team need a rehaul with youngsters tried. to address 1. positive play in PP. Choose at least one new opener who can do this in PP 2. Alternatives for Opening. 3. Ideal guys for 4 & 5. 4. possible replacement for Shami & Bhuvi 5. replacement for Chahal to start with .. India always benefited when such things have happened earlier and major changes were done . CT2013, post CT2017 changes sergio04 1

R!TTER Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 (edited) A loss doesn't guarantee anything, especially with the power Kohli, plus cheers leader, wield. Remember what happened in 2011/12 after the humiliation of our away tours? Dhongi clung on for another 4 years! But he did get rid of potential captains, namely Sehwag & GG. Granted their scores weren't great but the point it only made MS' grip on the team stronger, because he could throw others under the bus as scapegoat for losses. Coming to his chela Kohli, after CT 17 final ( even assuming Kohli's long standing rift with Kumble was a non issue) the person who got the boot was Kumble. After the fiasco in SA, Kohli dropped Pujara first up in England, but had Dahwan in of course because * logic. If it wasn't for Pujara, he would've been humiliated in Oz as well. Lastly what happened after 2019 WC & playing 4 WK (including KL) in the SF? Kohli isn't going anywhere, especially after bilateral losses. As long as he scores runs against chumps & meaningless games he'll be a permanent fixture in this setup for the foreseeable future. ShoonyaSifar Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 We did lose a ODI series to a 2nd rung Aus ODI unit before the WC. Led to absolutely nothing. Kohli has once again already prepared a ground for the upcoming series loss - we are trying to experiment. Expect no change in approach but lot of arrogant bombastic claims from the captain, coach and selectors. Cricwala 1
Cricwala Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Losing this meaningless bilateral means nothing. A change in guard might only happen in this scenario - losing to NZ in tests + knock out at group stage of T20 WC+ 2-0 or 3-0 loss to Aus + losing Test championship final (assuming we make it) + another loss against Eng in 2021 test tour + losing T20 WC at home + losing against SA during 2021-22 tour. Even then, Ganguly needs to be around to stand up to Kohli, and even he might decide to continue with Kohli till 2023 WC thinking it's too late for new captain.
