Another feather in the cap for Rohit Sharma, his piling on these slo-mo innings

his limitation being exposed over the last few seasons.

13 off 16 balls in powerplay

Finishes with 63 off 52

I would add Rahul today too, got saved by Mayank again and Galye latter.

In Chennai common sense is more important than strike rate. Pretty much all the guys who went for glory shots perished this season. If only Rahul had got out early there is  a good chance PKXI would have folded like a deck of cards like they did in a couple of other matches.

Come on man, yeah the pitch was slow, but you are still expected score 150-160.

You ain't getting that when Rohit is trundling at 13 off 16 in powerplay. It gets harder to bat latter, therefore even more important to take mileage out of powerplay at risk of losing 2-3 wkts.

Mayank showed the way for Punjab, perished early but did his job.

At the end Punjab chased the score at a canter thanks to impetus from Gayle.

Most of the Chennai losses were not due to lack of impetus, it was more to do with injudicious shot selection by set batsmen. Nitish Rana was in absolute command. For some reason he danced down the wicket against Chahar's last ball. HE got stumped. Rets of them just could not get going at all including Russell. Most of the time the targets were manageable. But it was sort of a wicket you could see 3 or 4 wickets falling in no time.

Faf leading from the front as senior batsmen, taking full advantage of powerplay unlike Rohit and Kohli playing selfish cricket to settle in.

God...nooooooo.........!!!!

Pant......no way............!!

Please don't play these kind of innings! My trust in Indian selfless batsmanship is at stake here now
