Kohli's downfall accelerated when he tried to mess with the wrong person, i.e. R.Ashwin

Kohli by questioning Ashwin's intensity in the WTC final and dropping him for the entire Eng test series shot himself in the foot really badly.

 

Ashwin is an absolute legend - India's greatest ever test bowler.   

 

I think Ashwin's complaint to BCCI about Kohli trying to make him insecure about his place in the side  and the subsequent events make it amply clear that BCCI had enough.

 

Few other Indian cricketers would want to get into a direct confrontation with Kohli given the power he once wielded.

 

Kudos to Ashwin. Along with his countless match winning performances, he will also be remembered for getting Indian cricket rid of a tyrant who never won a single ICC trophy yet  thought he owned Indian cricket.
