veer Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 I think Bangladesh deserved it more than Pakistani... they lost toss against, both, India and pak and still chased it close.. they have given fight in all of their matches.. just like India and Australia.. Pakistani on other hand lost heavily against WI, India, Australia and almost lost to Afghans.. chewy, sandeep, bowl_out and 1 other 1 3

I’d preferred an exciting team like Pak than an outright BORING team like NZ... This WC is been so boring in many ways...Weather, teams winning toss batting first winning most of the matches, pathetic slow pitches... On top of it boring teams like NZ & ENG in the semifinals..

India, Aus and England have been more consistent overall, and NZ have survived thanks to their good run in the early stages of the competition. Bangladesh were quite decent but just fell short. Windies were disappointing, they could have done much better with the talent that they have. South Africa was a disaster.

In fact for all the blame India is getting for their approach against England, India in fact took its foot off the gas in the final overs in the India vs Pak game once the game was done and dusted which probably gave them marginally a better run rate than they ended up with.
Deleted_User_1 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 (edited) Out of the teams that were left out, Pak is definitely the most worthy, but they phucked it up by losing to WI and losing badly to India and Aus where NRR became an issue. I think up until the SA game they did not have the right players. Malik is well past his due date (so if Hafeez) and the captain is an idiot, but once they brought in Haris and Shaheen they improved noticeably, but it was too late. You can say that NZ has regressed the most with the progress of the tournament. So regardless of who they play they will be out in the SF. This is followed by India who have regressed as well, so unless there is a Ind-NZ SF they will be out too. England and Australia have improved with the progress of the tournament and my money on Australia winning it all. Now although most of the times Luck has been Pak side in washout cases as well as other teams results and NRR too... This time however nothing worked for Pak and in fact Every factor which could've helped Pak case, went totally opposite... Part of Game but NRR method needs some kind of improvement/replacement because I think its not fair at all since it mainly just reflects how strongly you have beaten weakest teams, also wickets has a role ONLY in ALL OUT cases otherwise 170/1 and 170/9 considered same which doesn't seems fair, like: Case1: Team A scores 240/4 in 50 overs Team B chases with 241/9 in 40 overs... very very close game, 1 ball could've made the opposide result, such hard win for Team B but still they will get a huge advantage of 1.2 NRR Case2: Team A scores 240/all out Team B Scores 241/2 in 49 overs very very comfortable win for Team B but what they will get is just a 0.1 of NRR Also in Pak-NZ case: NZ has not beaten any other Semi Finalist yet qualified... Pak has beaten 2 Semi Finalist but still couldn't qualify... Yeah fair enough other matches are equally important but I think 2003 rule of 2 teams win same wins and same points, winner of match between them will go ahead, makes a lot more sense.. (Now If you think I am bringing all this up just because Pak team has suffered bcz of these rules for the first time, you are right) Iconoclast, Shaz1 and sergio04 1 2
