Yes, he is better than Dhoni already. Dhoni was dud in SENA. Pant has tons in SENA and better average with better strike rate.

Dhoni was limited batsman who overachieved due to constantly improving & evolving as a batsman.

Pant has enormous potential. You just need to see how he drove Starc at Brisbane, pulled Cummins at Melbourne & negotiated a tough spell from Anderson today. Just leave him alone, no comparison with Gilly please.

Actually 8 knocks with One series In eclipsing performance in Australia.

 

Early days but his career graph potentially looks like God himself.  Hope he keeps his dedication like Goddy and gives **** about Vaijanti Malas of bollywood and Doesn’t get distracted by sport Agents of Rat

Pant is already showing that he is a better test batsmen than Dhoni. But Dhoni was no dud as some people are here mentioning. Dhoni scored a crucial 70 no with only no.11 for company and drew a test which we were supposed to lose in the 1st test in Eng tour 2007. We won the second and drew the third thereby winning the series. Also Dhoni played some crucial 50s in the 14 tour v Eng when others were crumbling. i remember Kohli had an average of 13 that series or something with Anderson claiming him all the time.
