Bumrah should not play this IPL

I mean for heaven's sake, we have produced a world class bowler since ages. Lets not burn him out by playing each and every possible game. He has already bowled lots of overs this summer and deserve a rest before T20 world cup.

 

Ambani should let Bumrah sit out for this IPL as I dont want him to get burnt out by playing those meaningless show baazi matches. We need a full fit & firing Bumrah for T20 world cup and the SA tour.

You want him to sit out the IPL; a dress rehearsal for the T20 WC. Even the venues would be the same.

 

Bowling 4 overs a day and doing some fielding for 20 odd games will cause massive wear and tear? And burnout?

Also there is a lot of money riding on the event. Let him sit out a test series, which would generate a fraction of the revenue.

No way!! He should play! This isn't the full IPL season, this is only the second half.

Our finest t20i bowler should be in good rhythm before the crucial match against Italy. He can't be rested and forced to bowl directly against them.
The streak and  t20i World Cup are more important than any bilateral series versus England. He should skip the fifth test match.

Bumrah can be rested for the first 2 league matches of the IPL.

 

He can still play the next 5 league matches near the business end + knockout matches, if MI make them.

 

This will ensure a solid 11 day rest for the premier fast bowler.

He should have complete rest for 2 weeks and play IPL only if he is 100% fit. We need him to be fresh and raring to go for the World Cup.

Yes, ideally he should take a rest before wt20, playing IPL won't help him he already has played enough t20 games. 

 

Since IPL started we haven't won a single t20 world cup (all under Dhoni) so IPL is simply not anywhere close to the level of international cricket.

All young players (Indian and foreign): IPL is the closest experience to international cricket you can get. Helps you develop mentally to handle the pressure.

Bumrah should 100% play the IPL. He should be treated for the last test match, he has done enough already(although Kohli probably won’t rest him). He should spend the next few days relaxing, getting massages, etc. and then leave directly for the IPL. I like @express bowling idea of resting him for a couple of games. Maybe rest him for the games against KKR and SRH

BCCI paid Shami compensation of full IPL salary after 2015 ODI WC, because he delayed knee surgery and missed IPL.  

 

They should be pro-active, and do the same with Boom, even if he's not injured.  Pay him to rest.  God knows BCCI has enough money to afford it.

Agree in principle but is that really feasible?

 

Ambanis pay a bucketloads of money to Bumrah or to run their franchise,

don’t know if they will care about Wt20 over winning IPl with one of the best bowlers in the world.

 

If I had a billion $ invested I would probably do the same, since I don’t have the money I will be patriotic and endorse this.
