Doing a Stokes?

Selectors shouldn't consider him anyway until he bowls

Most probably he has lost interest in donning national colors and wants to become fit for IPL.

Why such negativity. Maybe he is serious. He did a more 'respectable' job than our seniors who keep playing despite failing and even during injuries. I am sure Ishant was never fully fit except for two odd years in his 100 test career.

Not defending his performance, but he did the right thing here.

Hopefully he gains some muscle mass & work on strength & conditioning.  His back is almost like a 60 year old budda.  He can't bowl with intensity without doing something about it.  Most likely his time is up.  If Michael Clarke couldn't recover he is nobody.

maybe its better for him to give up bowling and try to make it as specialist batsmen. Can surely do it in LOIs

Not enough talent coz  as a batsman can't play high pace or even wrist spin these days...  Can't innovate as well..  Also not getting any younger.  Matter of time we produce a superior hitter. Shahrukh  Samad Abhishek can always be groomed.  Shahrukh looks like a proper hitter.

It's good that he's working on his fitness, would be best if he sticks to LOIs. This disease of playing all 3 formats will be too demanding.

Even if he sticks to T20s only, it'll still be a good career and India would also prefer a sureshot all rounder who can be relied upon for 4 overs & some slogging.
