I think Pant will play as a specialist batsman in the next match considering the injury.. So Saha comes in and then the decision is whether to pick a batsman or bowler in place of Jadeja

They said it in post-match show also, he isn't 100% fit. Also some groin flare-up while bowling, was doing a lot of stretching in between overs yesterday. Maybe that explains his slower than usual running....

He has to recover for the final game ,usually this(around the 3rd,4th test) is where he loses his fitness and stamina and his performances starts to wear ,same happened in England last time .

No jadeja and maybe no pant ,he has to comeback fit for the final test ,we need his bowling and batting

I think Pant will play but Saha will keep. Ashwin should not be played if he is not 100% as we saw on last England tour. Plus don't want Ash to aggravate his injury before England series with Jadeja already out.

Aside from Jadeja, Vihari, Pant, and Ashwin are also injured. It wouldn't be surprising to see 4 changes the next match.

Why not play Mayank and Shaw in middle order and play 7 batsmen rather than Saha.

you have to think about their personal welfare as well.

 

They have 3/4 days. But its not fair for their personal well being to play a test through pain.

 

I dont think Pant should be keeping for what its worth.

While we have injury concerns of our own, will the three Aussie pacers be ready for the last test? Each of them have bowled almost 45 overs in this test. Would have sore feet especially if we bat first and can keep the Aussies on the field for 100+overs again

Very brave thing that they did. But I'm more concerned about their safety with regards to heavy dosage of pain killers. Its ok for short term but its not a good thing if they do it again at the gabba. I hope the team doctor is aware of these things and puts players safety first in these times.

I don’t know what pain killers they took but when I had my wisdom tooth removed the pain killers did make me “focused” for a while but don’t think it’s easy playing 140k short pitch bowling on a weary pitch while on the
