Its OK.

Got beat by a team that is more flawed than the Indian unit.  Yes, Pujara had a bad game.  Yes the top order batting let us down, again; like they have before.  Yes, Bumrah was nowhere near his best and had a forgettable game on the biggest stage.

BUT, this is the team that got here.  These are the guys that earned the right to be in the WTC final.  They had to go do it in conditions that do not suit 'our' brand of cricket.  Against a team that plays almost all their winning cricket in identical conditions.  And lost the toss to boot.

Test cricket's hardest ask is to beat a team that has the combination of winning the toss, in conditions that it prefers.  And India fell short of it.  In a game that I still believe was eminently winnable at the start.

Yes, some of the players executed at disappointing levels.  They could and should have done better.

But I do not question their heart, or their effort.  Or their talent.

Yes, I am bitterly disappointed.  But I will still root for Team India, through wins, losses, and draws.

And I refuse to allow the voices of frustration, negativity and vitriol monopolize the conversation.

I am not disheartened with this test loss, NZ had quite a few things going their way & in the end deservingly won.

But the question is of ICC event nerves. Indian teams at all levels have now surpassed SA in that "choke" job now. Leadership is insipid & leads from the front in terms of choking.

Totally agreed here.  And yet, it is hard not to be disappointed that justice was not done to this heart, effort and talent.  Something ain't right.  Enough evidence has accumulated now as to what that might be, but it will continue to be ignored.  And we will be left wondering about what could have been.

It is also okay to admit that our team was out played and need to get better. you gain nothing by downplaying opposition and overlooking our team's problems

This was another choke by Team India in a must win game ,by now we should get used to it .

I am not too disappointed ,I never am when we lose to nzl but we should get used to this now . I am more worried about the England test series which might end up being a whitewash .

We are not a great side as some people might want us to believe!

Yes it’s ok to get knocked out by Pakistan in a humiliating fashion. It’s ok to be humbled by Newzealand, it’s ok to be bowled out for 36, it’s ok to lose the WTC.

Let’s make this the official it’s ok thread.

Also I will root for India through wins and loses is not a new gimmick. Everyone on here wants India to win that’s why we are on here. However it is foolish when you have an emotional and monetary investment (paying for subscriptions etc) not to react .its people’s right to be pissed.

Losing is not the problem. Always losing and never winning a damn trophy since 2013 IS A BIG PROBLEM.

Choker it is!!!!

This is the typical "Chalta hai" problem that plagues our country as a whole and will never allow us to become leaders. We accept mediocrity as a given. We are not prepared to challenge the status quo and are willing to embrace below par results. Not surprised to see such a thread.

Its not OK to be lost in this fashion, when you lose 2 and half days , and yet lose the game..

more than 300 Overs was played. In normal case it would have been lunch day 4.
