Ok lets cut the some slack , they just pulled of one of the greatest wins in this sport. This wouldnt have been possible without coach contribution specially after 36 debacle.

I know they have all done well, but what the eff is it from the below (quoting OP's link) that Shastri has done that makes him the second coming of Vince Lombardi? The article like classic desi servile vibes.

Is Shastri's contribution (IF you believe Sridhar) above and beyond expectations? It's what every top level international coach would do!  It's up to the players to execute.

I'm sure Mickey Arthur is giving his wards sound advice too, that didn't prevent SL from being hammered by England.  This is just the coaching gang doing their PR.

Quote

 1. Shastri made Ashwin bowl early on Day 1 of the Melbourne Test to use the moisture on the wicket. Ashwin came on in the 11th over, and snapped up Steve Smith for a duck

2. Shastri & co make a 'masterstroke' by replacing an outgoing Virat Kohli with Ravindra Jadeja

3. Bharat Arun spoke about how Shastri had called him as early as July 2020 to plot Australia's downfall by cutting out run scoring opportunities on the off side

4. We are also very very blessed to have Bharat Arun with us, he is one of the best readers of a cricket pitch I've ever seen.

5. Virat has openly admitted once that Shastri asked him to stand a few steps in front of the crease

6. Vihari too said Shastri made subtle changes that helped him play well in West Indies.

7. In Birmingham, Pujara had technical issues. He was rested for one match. Everyday he took Pujara to the nets, worked on his stance and everything. Pujara played from the next Test and he went on to get a century

Why? Did the coach own upto the 2019 WC debacle? or the series losses in Eng and SA? For all such losses his justification was just 1 poor hour/session. Why should we now believe everything his lackeys are saying in the media and grossly undermining Rahane's efforts

Wrong that wouldn't have been possible if discarded ones woldn't played this series... If everyone would have been fit like nz series these morons would have never played bench strength who virtually won this series. Credit should be given but now they are going overboard in terms of mangement priase rather than actual soldiers.
