Lessons to be learned from this series loss.

1) Rohit should never play an overseas test for India. He is not a test standard batsman in outside the subcontinent conditions. 

2) Rahane unless he is woefully out of form should be a permanent fixture in overseas tests.

3) Play 2 practice games before the 1st test.

4) We need an average plus keeper who is a test standard batter for the long term. 

5) Hardik Pandya is NOT a test standard bowler. He can bowl a few overs. His batting is 50-50. We should play an extra batter or Jadeja/Ashwin in his place at all times in overseas conditions.

Don’t agree with this as a team needs to groom talented players. Test cricket is like portfolio management

I would stick with Pandya, in Shastri’s words he has been “mercurial”, especially in field taking big pressure excellent catches or runouts

example Amla’s catch in 1st and 2nd innings

Pandya too the turning point catch of Amla. He is very valuable member

Point 4 is also iffy as Ind can’t afford to lose wkt  taking opportunities so would need an excellent keeper, esp when spinners are on

Rahane missing the first two tests was the difference between us winning 2-1 and ultimately losing the series 1-2.

Disagree with 5th point, pandya needs to be backed. He looks like he belongs in international cricket

Add shankar for options for having variety. He is good enough to play as batsman

you know that word is used for the Pakistani team. Funny enough, his attitude and all does remind me of Pakistani ex cricketers.

Never underestimate our bowling especially pace bowling ofcource except ishant!!

Kohli should keep all Sharma's at poles distance on overseas test.  Dhawan should be used to make drinks after game

Not convinced about pandyas value ..he is neither the 6th batsman or the 5th bowler. Cant afford to have Saha and him in the team. Saha is a weak bat overseas. He will come handy in flat pitches only.

Even Gavaskar acknowledging the problem of selections... did not mention Rohit  even once in his post match analysis
