With a WC in Australia coming up in 40 odd days, this dungbrained TM thought experimenting with 2 pacers somehow followed a logical train of thought? I mean seriously, is this what we have come to? 

 

We face Pak in Melbourne, RSA in Perth (a venue where they have as good or better record than Aus), and this is how these morons want to prepare? 

 

Either that or the pile of excuses for stinking up in yet another multi-nation tourney is wafer thin now.

This doesn't even make any sense. World T-20 is in Australia so they should have picked more  non sexy pacers to see where each of them stand.

 

But then the way our selections are going on we would have witnessed the mighty Chetan Sakariya and Arzan Bakwas walla tearing away the opposition in UAE.

The real reason is that the TM don't feel confident playing these trundlers or spray guns.

 

Stats-mongers are showing that they are the " best " all phase pacers but deep down, subconsciously, Dravid snd Co. feel uncomfortable with these " non-sexy " trundlers. 

 

If proper pacers like Bumrah, Siraj or Shsmi were there, they would have been played.

This is what happens when statistics is used to pick squads and cricketing acumen takes a back seat.

 

The biggest problem with T20 stats is that most games are low profile bilaterals or low profile league stage games. And big players don't play with full intensity in these matches. Which means many mediocre and safe players notch up good stats ... but when the big players play with full intensity in big matches, it becomes a different ball game.
