He will be Sashtri's by extension Kohli loyal servant. And also Srini/Dhoni by extention Ganguly.

All is good, all boys young and old club will be happy with MR.  'got the elevation not the distance'.

 will be fun looking at the melt down here for any TN player being selected..lulz. look at that style.

Siva likes fast bowlers and appreciates it when they are bowling quick.

And, as said above, he likes wrist spinners too.

Our bowling may benefit when he becomes chief selector.

His fierce loyalty to Srinivasan - the guy who saved him from financial ruin - is well-known.  I just hope he can do his job objectively.

Regardless of who is in that position that is never possible.

MSK and co. were selectors during BCCI’s lowest phase but still they had to bow down to the power center under their regime that is Kohli and Co.

However regardless of how boring and one dimensional  he comes across in the commentary box, I have heard he does have a good cricketing brain from his peers, so let’s hope he makes the best out of what he is allowed to do.

LS is a big fan of kuldeep and that midget chahal :wall:

LS will back all leggies.  I think Shreyas Gopal will come into the reckoning. I strongly believe he will be backed by L Siva.

Hopefully he brings Kuldeep back into the picture. He is too good to wait in the sidelines

It's not like Kuldeep has been dropped.

If iam not wrong ,is this going to open the door for Thala?(or was it ever closed?)

Thala has been waiting for the doorman to change, taking sabbatical after sabbatical till a new selection committee is in place.

Played his last test in Jan 2019, last ODI in Aug 2019 and last T20 in Feb 2019. A guy who is averaging 24, 23 and 12 in Tests, ODIs and T20Is respectively. Not picked for Tests vs WI, SA and now BD. Not picked for T20s vs SA and BD

Not dropped, just a small matter of not getting any game time at all and mentally destroyed by this TM.

He will have to wait for his chances. We haven't played many ODIs. He isn't a great T20 bowler and it can ruin him mentally like it happened in IPL. He hasn't been the same since then and TM is rightly giving him time to recover. He was poor in WC as well.

Is this guy a stooge for srinivasan? Anyway, this guy doesnt have a back. Too much of sunny bhai sunny bhai. To the extent, that he even copies sunny's tone and his lingo!

LS is an establishment man and beholden to N Srinivasan ...he might have an eye for talent and exposure to domestic performers due to his BCCI commentary work, but I don't see him being able to push anyone Kohli-Shastri don't want. So maybe leggies like Gopal will get into A squads, but guys like Pant, Kuldeep, Gill, Saini should not expect any relief from LS. The big K will continue deciding fate of talented youngsters.

Don't expect much from Ganguly too - he has already said 'Kohli is most important person in Indian cricket'. And Ganguly still believes he was a victim for being dropped in 2005 - but it was the right call at the time, and it spurred Ganguly to make a comeback an year later and play some of his best cricket for another 2 years.  I agree with others that best chief selectors we had in recent past were More and Vengsarkar from 2004-08 period, when several bold moves were made and youngsters backed.

This move, if true, also marks a clawing back by N Srinivasan into BCCI affairs - not a good thing IMO. Srini is good at power games to keep ICC in check, but unfortunately he interferes in cricketing matters and is nepotistic. As the man responsible for one of the biggest messes Indian cricket has seen (IPL match-fixing saga & cover up), his re-entry does not bode well. Hope Ganguly and Thakur have enough clout to keep Srini mama in check. Although anything is better than the SC/CoA s**t show.

Vengsarkar or More would have been great fits. Did their job brilliantly in their last terms. Another opportunity missed.

Vengsarkar was crying because Rahane wasn't selected in WC squad, yeah an enlightened mind.

Kuldeep sucked in the WC campaign, before that cried over a tuchchh IPL match. Some ICFers here want us to believe he is 10xWarne LOL. After the meltdown he was having, he must thank selectors for giving him some vacation time.

Chahal is fine until you get to pressure matches. Use him as a spare to rest guys then leave him in the pavilion once the knockouts start.

we need him to perform under pressure .. he usually screws us in pressure situations
