The work that our squads have done over the last 16 months, huddled together as a team in one place, the enormous sacrifices and hard work of our coaching staff, mad respect to all of them. They have uplifted the spirits of 1.3 billion Indians with their guts, amazing.

I loved the defense today the most. Aussies just tried and threw everything at us and we held on to the lead still. Aussies were better attacking team today in the 3rd and 4th quarter and could have easily won today but our defense just were so good that they were able to keep the 1-0 lead till the end. Special win indeed.

@Trichromatic @G_B_ @jalebi_bhai @Cricketics what do you guys think about a around the turn interview episode with all our Olympic medalists at the end? Is it feasible?

Good idea, we can try to bring but not sure how easy it will be to approach them. If we get hold of any of them, then we will surely would love to do something with them.

Post this Olympics it will be wonderful if our ICF banner honors our Olympic medalists, top performers etc. That banner can stay for the rest of the year, lest we forget there are sports apart from cricket in India. And remarkable achievers who have conquered great odds.

One of the greatest upsets in Olympics history, in any sport. Beat Pool B toppers and strong medal favorites Australia.

And to do that when umpires were so blatantly biased in favor of the Aussies, that British TV ump in the end

Clutch, so clutch. As cricket fans we are never used to seeing India show so much mental toughness against all odds in ICC events. The way we repelled wave after wave of attacks in Q4, and how we held our nerve against sellout match officials, amazing.

I don't care about medal tally, shooting /boxing disappointments etc. any more. Hockey results have compensated for all that, even if we have lower medal count than London this is our best ever Games performance @G_B_ @neel roy @maniac @Real McCoy @QuarantineTormentino @Trichromatic @Cricketics @ShoonyaSifar @I6MTW and all other Olympics followers of this forum.

India now the only country represented in men's as well as women's SF lineup :isalute:. Imagine, we have done something which eluded Aus, Neth, Ger, Arg, GBR. Who would have predicted this? Or even come close...men after so many decades, women after 2016 blowout, and the fact that we were always minnows in that field barely able to compete with China/Japan for most of our history.

The work that our squads have put in over the last 16 months, huddled together as a team in one place, the enormous sacrifices and hard work of our coaching staff, mad respect to all of them. They have uplifted the spirits of 1.3 billion Indians with their guts, amazing.

How do you dig stats out of it  I can't even do it for the cricket team. All  to @Gollum

Just immense. Can they hold on to this performance against Argentina? No hopes - but they deserve a place in the final after this. If these ladies can beat the Ozzies - they should believe that anyone can be beaten.

Can the ladies be the Argentina mens team of the 2016 Rio Olympics?
